9 hole executive length course
The 9-hole "Irish Hills" course at the Irish Hills Golf Course facility in Onsted, Michigan features 2,389 yards of golf from the longest teesIrish Hills golf course opened in 2001. Tom Clark manages the course as the General Manager.
We played the Irish Hills Golf Course on July 4th 2012 and it was a really neat course. It's only 9 holes but it's the coolest 9 hole course we've ever played. It has huge greens and giant hills. Some of the holes you tee of from way up on top of a hill and others have greens up on hills. Its a par 34 and was around 2500 yards. Its under new management and we heard the manager in 2011 ran the place into the ground. They were doing lots of work on the course and looks like they cleaned out a lot of brush and cut down some big trees that were probably blocking approach shots. Overall we had a great time and the people running the course were very nice - the fees were very reasonable also. We will certainly return to play the course again.
The only way I can describe some of the holes is funky. Big elevation changes, narrow openings through the T boxes, blind shots. Had fun and the greens were fast but overall the course needed a good trim. Interesting scenery with Irish Hills a near ghost town as a backdrop on some holes.
