18 hole regulation length course
The 18-hole "Red" course at the Brigadoon Golf Club facility in Grant, Michigan features all the hallmarks of Michigan golf. Designed by Grant McKinley, the Red golf course opened in 1989. Rick Tejchma manages the course as the Director of Golf.
Very difficult for the weekend player. If you hit straight and know your distance you should do pretty well, until you get to the 100 foot cliffs and have to judge what club to hit.
I'm hoping this review reflects the original 18. I don't know what color that represents, but, I think I'm right. 1 through 18, you won't have a better time playing golf than you will here. "Bring-A-Dozen", is the local name for this course. If you are anywhere near Grand Rapids, play this course. If you are insanely wealthy and use golf as an adventure rush, fly into Grand Rapids with three friends, rent a car, and play this course. Do not let them push you off on the other courses. Demand the original 18. You will discover language that exists within yourself that is more profane and irreligious than you could ever imagine. Even the holes that look realistic from the tee box, turn into blind shots over lush cliffs on to island greens on your approach. The cart "path" cuts through deep forest, up insane inclines and back down, all the while, experiencing bright green vistas. It's a rare outing that you don't encounter a deer or racoon or a fox out here on this track. I've golfed Pinehurst #2, The Ocean Course, everything at Doral, and half of Scotland, and this course makes me giddy as I pull into the parking lot. First, you'll find it empty any weekday afternoon. It's beyond economical. I usually play 36 here. (Twice on the original 18. I can't stress this enough.) It's rugged and borders on raw, but at times it's refined and elegant to the point of being breathtaking. They maintain it as well as you can maintain stream and river cut hill terrain. The fairways and greens are nicely groomed. Any other lie you create is why they call it "Bring-A-Dozen". If you like to hit the ball a mile from the tee, please, come here and golf so I can listen to you cry out through the woods. It's one of the best parts of playing this course. You'll hear this, "Yes, yes, go, yes, what?, no NO, NOOOOO, f&%$#!!!
This is a very nice course and fairly difficult this website is wrong about there prises though on weedays its only 16.50 and on weekends it is 19.50 and by far the best deal you will ever find for the quality of play there is here
