First time playing this course. Beautiful course, exellent condition. This course is in the best shape of any course I have played all summer. Even with the drought and extremely hot temperatures we have had for 90 days. Very few burn spots, greens were in excellent shape. They were fast. Even after it rained fairly hard, the greens didn't slow a bit.

This course if worth the trip, ecspecially if you live in Southern Maryland.

Still one of my top 3 favorites in the DC area, shame it takes forever to get there from almost anywhere, haha, but it's worth the drive once in a while. It was ranked the 7th best course in all of MD for a long time by one publication (Golf Digest?). It has slipped to 10th but that's still not too bad.

The course has bermuda fairways, bent greens. Constant change of management has taken its toll. But if you like Carolina courses, this is a shorter trip. Lots of pines, marshes and waterviews. What you see is what you get golf. Very few if any blind shots. Plenty long. Quite a few forced carry shots. Very little roll in the fairway. No run up on the greens. Greens are normally in good shape. The bunkers could use some work. The driving range is just ok. The clubhouse is clean and just redecorated. The food is good not too expensive with a wide range of items, but not too expensive.

Aug 2006 Maintenance

Great layout but course looked a bit "tired". They are rebuilding three of the greens. Lots of staff hanging out by the clubhouse looking like they needed supervision.
