I use to consider this my home course, but they have really been letting the maintenance go over the years. This course seems easy at first, but it is really challenging. This course can eat up your balls on a bad shot. Woods, water, and protected hazards are all over the place. If you dont have confidence with your driver, you may want to put it away. Last year hole #1's green was just horrible. It was like playing on a matted block of dirt with rocks and dying grass everywhere. Also hole 14, I think was "under repair" all season long. They moved the tee box to the middle of the fairway on a completely uneven lie. They are also lacking any real practice facilities. The non-driver driving range (less then 200 yards) has the worse mats I have ever hit off of and you are lucky if 3 people can putt on the practice putting green. Overall I still like the course, and I think they have dropped their prices to compensate for the challenges they obviously acknowledge they have. I hope they can stay focused and turn things around this year.

A very nice public course, good layout. Fairways are beat up with divots. I did not like being told "cart path only" after I paid. They got a customer the day I played last week, but they did not make a friend! I won't be back.

Excellent course but short. This was my first time so when I return I will play the "BLUE" tee box. Good layout and excellent condition. My only concern is the course is a little wet in spots. Friendly staff and an iron only driving range. Great for warm up if you need it. Great course to work on shot making due to some pin placements. I recommend this course.........

We took a small group out this weekend. I have not played Cross Creek in about 4 years so I was *very* impressed with the service , the value and the condition of the course. It had been raining but the course was in great shape. It was a lot of fun and a great value.

A very nice course with a reasonable price when using a discount book/coupon. Course is a "I want your attention" course and if you don't give it then you will pay on the scorecard. Take all your "guns" to the course - you will need all of them. You WILL be tested !

Great course, with just a few little annoyances.

Played Cross Creek on 7/15/06. Course is in great condition... a relief. I heard that the conditions were particularly optimized for last years Futures tour event, and was worried that without a similar event this year that conditions would slip. Not in the least... and some construction last year on their signature hole #14 is now complete and everything was very nice.

Aside from the advertised features (Quarry, etc.), I particularly enjoy the nice jaunts the cart paths take through the woods... often with exceptionally nice wooden bridges to elevate you above the natural surroundings a little bit.

On to the nits... there isn't much slack for directional error on this course, and they do seem to go a bit overboard in declaring just about anything off the fairway as 'reforestation areas', instructing all players to not even attempt to find errant shots. At least it is always visually apparent what your safe boundaries probably are for a given shot.

The other main annoyance is the cart path design of #16. This par 4 is a hard dogleg right and seems to be designated 'cart path only' continuously. The path, though, was constructed halfway up the hillside to the bordering homes... so you will need to traverse a 30+ foot steep grade to get back and forth to your cart for each shot - definitely a slow-down factor for those of us that don't have the knees we once had. I have to wonder whether the 'cart path only' designation on this hole has more to do with the risky steep climbs that it would take to get on and off the path rather than other course conditions. They really need to just move that cart path down closer to the fairway, or even to the other side of the fairway.

On the whole, though, I find this course to be consistently challenging yet fair, and am unaware of competing courses with equivalent conditions, views, and amenities in this area that can be had for less.
