Far Corner Golf Club, Boxford, MA

The owners of this course should be embarasses - Conditions are worst I have seen in 5 years anywhere! The clearly do not care about the fairways. Further - they put us out on back nione and when we made the turn, they were putting new gorups out in fron of us - for a 3 hour back 9 - Will never return - too bad since it is a pretty place and a good track - ownership sucks though - needs a new owner.

Played today. Course is in excellent condition. Interesting layout: used every club in the bag. Challenging yet fun and fair. Beautiful property. Definitely will play again!

I just went and played a quick 9 here for the first time. I played the front 9, and was very impressed by the course. Each hole does well to represent a different golfing challenge, without making this course target golf or a series of layups. The ability to shape your shots is very handy on several holes. I also did not find the layout to be ovelry narrow at all.

The conditions were average, although the greens were as good as any public course in the area. Walking this layout was not overly taxing if you walk often, but there are some decently large elevations changes.

Practice facilities are spacious and fairly impressive, although the driving range is hitting straight uphill. Don't expect to guage your distances here. The putting green is beautifully kept, and fairly true to the speed on the course.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was friendly all around. The pro shop was large and well stocked.

I am very excited to return and try the other 18 holes.

I don't really know what to say about Far Corners. I'm an average golfer and it's a good course. But, there are a ton of blind shots which can be really frustrating for first timers and there are a lot of narrow, slanted fairways that are conducive to losing your ball. The greens are rather undulating and bunkers not as maintained as I'd like. There were a lot of stones in the bunkers. You definitely need a cart to play the 2nd nine (there are 27 holes here). It's also opened year round which is nice. It's an average course with an above average difficulty rating.

Golf

This course provides difficulties in the way of terrain. Many of the shots to the pin are either uphill or downhill. Placement on the green is vital as many greens have various slopes. The staff are very, very friendly. An overall enjoyable experience.

Good Value Golf

Prices are reasonable and crowds are a minimumal, especially weekday mornings. This make a quick round of golf before work very enjoyable. The only complaint I would have is the maintenance around the greens and bunkers. They are just not as well kept as other course I have played.
