For a casual golfer like me, Heartland is great! I play in the Ladies League, the Couples League, Scrambles and occasional independent rounds. The greens are challenging and in great shape. They repaved the cart paths this summer and that is a Massive, MASSIVE, improvement! The Pro Shop staff are friendly and helpful. If you are hungry, there's great bar food plus beer, wine and drinks to catch up with everyone afterwards.

Course is under new management. Reviews dating back to last decade are now obsolete. Many improvements have been made to the golf course, driving range, and clubhouse/ sports pub. Greens in great shape, fairways and tee boxes improving by the day. Pro Shop staff is professional and helpful, and the food and drinks are some of the best in town. Cart paths need more work, but improvements are being made all around. A good deal and a good day for the money.

A group of 16 visited this course in May 2009 for four days. Do not waste your time or money on this place. The course is a disaster from tee to green. There are no sprinklers on the course or near the greens. Almost every fairway was torn up with little grass – several on the back side were literally complete dirt without a blade of grass! If you were lucky to find a patch of grass to hit off of, the greens would not hold a shot. Even towering pitching wedge shots into greens would not hold. Balls would bounce from the front of the green all the way through & over the greens. It quickly became frustrating to hit a good shot and have the ball shoot off the green like you were landing it on concrete. The course never changed the pin locations when we were there – 4 days. It was sunny and 85 degrees when we were there, and the course did not put out any water to drink, and they do not have a drink cart. They did put out water the very last day we were there (on two holes) when the weather was 70 and overcast. The condos are in nice condition, but the bedding was not clean or comfortable.

To be fair, the golf carts were new and staff were nice.

I was there for 3 days and played 27 holes each day. The pin locations never changed. Fairways are poor. Poor drainage on the course will make for a very sloppy round if any rain comes through the area. Maintenance or lack thereof is an issue at the course. The convenience of the Condos is a plus. Personnel at the course are very friendly. Service and pricing at the restaraunt/bar is questionable. Overall: Very Convenient Trip, Poor Golf Course.

The greens are maintained...and that's about it. I've played at different times and the fairways and rough are in terrible condition all year long. This course is overpriced and that includes the hot dogs, which are almost as expensive as the ones at Yankee Stadium.

Personnel reviews dated from '07 are outdated. The current staff is very nice.

Seem to be more about the Restaurant/Bar than golf. Nice design, but was better maintained in past years.

The course itself iself is alright. Fairways are decent, but could use some work, same with the greens. Prices are above the actual overall value though. Don't even get me started on the clubhouse personel! The guy accused my group of trying to cheat him out of money saying we had more players than actually payed...problem is he was so drunk that he was probably seeing double! I've played there a few times but I'll never play there again.

The course is ok. The fairways need some work. I dont think I will ever play it again. The workers were rude and drunk.

A waste of a golf course. Could be a good golf course with personnel changes in the right spots.

Reviewed September 04, 2007

Nice course in fairly good shape. The only problem was the guy in the pro shop was very rude and was very intoxicated. He was very disrespectful to me and the others with me. Price was a little steep for the shape of the fairways .

Reviewed May 11, 2007

Over played.

Good course, some good challenges, a little short, but a decent variety of holes. Fairways are rough, way overplayed, a little expensive compared to some other top knotch facilities nearby (Bardstown)
