OLD English Golf Course is now Lucas Oil Golf Course, concrete and asphalt cart paths have been resurface and added on the course. Extensive clearing has been done and is continuing during the off season. The bunkers have been re-done with drainage and new sand. The Bermuda fairway and tees are well established. Greens are some of the best in Midwest. 65 new Club Car gas golf carts. Full service restaurant and bar. Stay and Play to be offered soon. Very affordable rates! Make a tee time you won't be disappointed!!

I have read the other reviews and I couldn't disagree more. The amenities of Old English are outstanding because it has the BEST FOOD I have ever eaten at a golf course. One of the owners is a retired home ec teacher and does the cooking. The course has a 131 slope rating from the back tees so this puts it in the Top 5 of most difficult courses in the area. The scenery is awesome and the course is THE BEST VALUE in Kentuckiana. Yes the course had its growing pains, but now the greens are in great shape (L 93 bent grass) with lots of undulation. The fairways and tees were improved with Bermuda Grass from a French Lick donation. Finally, the best part is the STORY of the old English Golf Course. The course is owned and operated by 142 buddies who built the golf course were ther town once stood. The Town of English flooded over the years and eventually the town was moved to higher ground. This left 300 acres of land to be developed into a golf course. World renowned golf course architect, Dr. Mike Hurdzan, donated his services. It is a great layout. Go see for yourself and try the homemade vegeatble soup!!!

This place is a goat ranch. For one, you should have to sign an insurance waiver to ride on some of the cart paths. Most are gravel and on extremely steep slopes. It is just a matter of time before someone dies. The course is very poorly mainatined and the layout is a joke. I was very disappointed for making the drive out to this place.

This course has the potential to be a nice course..but sadly i think the owners have bit off more than they can chew! Hole 18 is the only decent hole on the course and it was nice,(extremely scenic from tee box!) but not nice enough to play the other 17 to get there! Long course too, you better pack a lunch between holes! The also have a commercial on tv promising pro v1's and i didn't see a pro v1 in the whole place. 90% of the greens were in bad, bad shape!

The scenery was beautiful, but other than that couldnt say much good about the course. It was laid out over what semed to be miles and miles. Cart paths very very dangerous. Most of the greens where in bad shape also on the TV add you were told that when you play at the course you get a free sleeve of pro v1 golf balls that was not the case when we asked for the free balls we were given a plastic bag and told to get some used balls from the bucket. These balls were balls that had been found on the course and had marker and scuff marks all over them. I know I will never go back and play this course again.
