Three of us played on Saturday April 2, and each paid the $21 senior rate to ride 9. FYI 18 at Silver Lake South on the same day and time would have been no more than $33. We not only had to show our drivers licenses, the guy behind the counter said he had to keep them while we played. So we're trying to have fun while thinking and joking about the possibility of identity theft. I thought it was a pretty good test of accuracy, there's lots of water there, and the traps were more raked and ready than other courses for early in the season. We thought the fairways were in top shape, while the greens were not. I think the word is "ignored" for too long. The "ranger" appeared to spend most of his time looking for golf balls. And I have never seen a "pro shop" so loaded with used crap (balls & clubs) in my 55 years. You might enjoy this course, but I think some of the other folks who posted reviews here should be believed. Hope somebody buys this place and decides not to try and bleed every last dime out of the customers.

I have been to Graystone many times, this is worth the read. As the other reviews state, the management is very rude. As a business owner myself, I understand about a business making it these days. But when a 16 year boys loses a head cover, (a very obvious one for the club), goes back the next day and sees his cover on the "sale" table (a folding table of lost head covers), shows the manager/owner his club, the other clubs to match, his receipt that he was there the day before and is told no, you cannot have it. But you may buy it for a dollar. That is not good business, that is a greedy shrew. I went back there with my son to confront this "lady", sad to say, she was not there. The girl behind the counter asked if she could help, my son told her what had happened. The girl agreed that it was wrong, complained a bit of the business practices at Graystone, and without hesitation, gave my son his head cover. (also some of the used balls they sell there also). The course has gone down since the death of the true owner. Now his wife runs it. She has been looking for a buyer for a couple years. Maintenance and upkeep are not high on her priority list. Rates have gone up 3 times in 2 years, as I am sure they will go up again this year. The course is a decent 9 hole, however, no debit/credit cards are accepted. You can play 18 (University Park Golf Club, Deer Creek for example) for the cost of her 9. It is a 20/80 place to golf a quick 9. (the 80 being the negative) Nice layout and it does offer a challenge, but the lack of ways to pay, poor upkeep, high prices and extremely poor customer service pushes me away. I would say avoid this place. If you do happen to go, steer clear of the owner. You'll be better off.

Don't really understand the negatives on here, although I have never booked an outing. I have golfed here now at least 15 times in 09. Quite frankly I did feel the price was a little steep for 9 in the past. I have never been treated rudely and the course is upkept extremely well. It is a 9 hole course where you can get your driver out a lot. I will agree the amenities aren't great but I go with my son or myself and I am not looking for a clubhouse to get all boozed up in after the round. There are two port a potties. One by the clubhouse and one on the course that is placed well. If you are looking for a little bit more challenging 9 hole than your normal pitch and put this place is perfect. If you looking to spend the whole day in the clubhouse watching TV than go elsewhere.

Terrible experience!!! Management is extremely rude.

Booked a tournament 2 weeks in advanced . Arrived only to find out that the new owner (wife of Jim Gray) would not accept tournaments, and that the cashier had made a mistake. But she accepted and we paid-- check was not deposited until that very morning. If they had let us know ahead of time it was an error, it would have been a different story. But she did not, and she yelled at us to leave the premise. After a huge argument, she finally let us play, but was extremely rude during the whole outing. Never had I, in my entire life as a customer, been treated so poorly and in the wrong.

In addition, we all had paid for carts. She was yelling at us for using all of her carts, and that she didn't have enough for her customers. Not our problem. We booked in advance, and we were paying customers too. We even raked in a good amount of revenue for her that day(~15 ppl). Through out the outing, we were harassed to bring in the carts as soon as possible-- as if we weren't going to return them. We should not be rushed to play just because they don't have enough carts. She'll never see business from us, our friends or family again.

DO NOT VISIT GRAYSTONE GOLF LINKS. If you want to be treated like a paying customer and have a pleasant outing, DO BUSINESS ELSEWHERE.

(They also had poor facilities. Their office/shop is a small trailer, and the customer bathroom is one portable toilet away from the office. These facilities are permanent.)

One might say this course is a bit pricey for a 9 holer, but it is in the same price range as Silver Lake and many other courses. Plus, after playing 12 rounds of 9 the 13th is free. There are few courses around that are kept in as good shape and you can play 18 in 4-4.5 hours on the weekend and less on weekdays. True, there are few amenities, but who needs a fancy clubhouse? The grounds are immaculately maintained including the port-a-lets. There aree 4 sets of tees that cater to every golfer.
You can get cheaper rates at other courses, but for convenience of location and the fact that several local restaurants will give a 10% discount with your golf receipt makes it worth a try.

Very unpleasant experience! $30 to ride 9 holes (after 3:30 on a weekend) and because rain WAS in the forecast, a "no rain checks" sign was posted which we saw after we paid. Inquired about a refund with the starter and was told that was not possible.

Brought my two boys with me, one is 16, one is 8. No junior rate at all. My 8 year old who only plays from about 75 - 100 yard in and putts was charged FULL PRICE. As their sign "warned", rain did start on the second hole, we tried to play but it began to rain so hard we barely finished the 4th hole. They did stay true to their word however and offered us NO RAIN CHECK!

There are far too many choices for golfers within a 25 mile radius of this course. Spoke with the owner Jim Gray a few days later and his basic attitude was "it's my course, it's my rules". That's fine. As I told him on the phone, as owner, that's his right. I WOULD NOT RECOMEND GRAYSTONE GOLF LINKS WHATSOEVER.
