The staff is probably the nicest you will ever meet. They alwas put the customer first. This course is always kid friendly, yet it's challenging for even the lowest handicap. If you are in the Elgin area, this is a course you must check out.

PS- Good luck to Carly Schneider in college! She made the Sabres proud! (Her dad owns the course)

The Good:
1) Price was right. Paid $22 incl. cart on a Saturday on golfnow.
2) Challenging; great target practice. Hit the fairways/greens here and you can hit them anywhere.
3) Greens are OK. A little slow when we played them but rolled true.
4) Staff is nice.

1) Bring a helmet; they squeezed 18 holes on property made for 14 tops.
2) Drainage appears to be non-existent. We went 2 days after a good rain and the course still had standing water EVERYWHERE, this is in addition to the multiple true water hazards spread throughout the course.
3) Sometimes the challenge becomes a too much. Most fairways are no wider than a two-lane road, most greens are similarly small. There's no fringe. You're also lucky if you get clean, even ground on the tee boxes. In making it an 18 hole course, some of the holes are jokes. For example, the par 3 #9 literally forces you to hit a lob wedge over two tall trees to a small elevated green. Miss by a foot, and the ball rolls down near some more trees.
4) Played behind a 5-some for half our round. Didn't see a ranger the whole time we were out there.

Overall, this a nice practice course. Forget about your score and/or how many balls you'll lose after barely missing the green/fairway, and enjoy the challenge.

You get what you pay for, $20 18 holes w/cart. Needs better upkeep. Very narrow fairways. Should have kept it a 9 hole. Beats hitting a bucket of balls.
