Course Reviews

I was invited to play this course with a friend who played the course at a huge discount. Its totally great at the price we paid for it, but to pay the cart fees and the regular green fees...no way. Well manicured, great greens, but not worth the full price of admission. But at least i can say i played the blue monster and shot under 100!!!

This course is fun to play once because of its fame as a pro tournament course. It is very difficult from the tips as you might imagine if you've ever watched the World Golf Championship on TV. The course condition is always great and there are good practice facilities. However, the course is not that scenic (Doral is not a pretty city) and its stupid expensive. If you want a course that is just as challenging, better scenery and 1/3 the price of Doral, play Key Biscayne. If you want to play a famous course cause you saw Tiger play it, play the Blue Monster.

Course was pretty cool to play once and is very challenging. The par 3's are a bit tough, even from the blue tees. Believe the hype, the 18th is hard. You have a narrow fairway with water on the left and trees on the right. The green is protected short by the water and deep bunkers if you hit long. Once one the green, it slopes towards the water like Pebble's 18th and you can easily roll of into the drink.

The course can be a bit monotonous as many holes feel the same and all holes are protected by sand, not much bump and run action available. Pace of play is decent but not great and the price can be steep. Try to take advantage of the after 3:00 twilight rate for $130.00 in the summer. I started at 3:40, had a half hour rain delay, and still finished 18.

Stay at the resort for a very comfortable experience but be prepared to pay and tip at every turn. I would not go out of my way to play this course again, but to experience it once was a treat.

played with jim mclean. that says it all.

Best golf course in the area, possibly in the country. Perfect conditions, excellent challenge, superior service.

I personally don't care for this course at all. It is grossly overpriced for a so so experience. I am a 10 handicap and find this course a bit too much in the wind. Also, it takes forever to play, especially in the tourist season.

STILL THE BEST OVERPRICED RESORT

BLUE MONSTER STILL HOLDS UP WELL ESPECIALLY IN THE WIND. TRY PLAYING IT IN A NORTH WIND. LESS OBVIOUS IS DESIGNER WILSON'S ROUTING OF COURSE, WHICH ALLOWS SPECTATORS TO MOVE TO 'HOT SPOTS'QUICKLY.INCREDIBLY OVERPRICED,BUT THERE'S ALWAYS A 'CROQUET PLAYER' TO TAKE YOUR SPOT. LET THE DEBATE END; NO.18 IS BOTH THE TOUGHEST AND SCARIEST FINAL HOLE IN U.S. PROFESSIONAL GOLF.OH,BABIES ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THE PARKING LOT OR THE GRILLE.

Worst service experience I ever had. Course is fine and challenging.

I played there in Spring 2006. I had the absolute worst service I have ever had at any course I ever played. The members I met were great, but the help was terrible, I had 3 bad experiences: parking lot, golf services, and the grill. The course was fine and challenging, but overpriced. Sorry, but I can't recommend this establishment.
