The facility is very nice with first class treatment from the moment you enter. Practice area is nice with an excellent chipping green. The course is wide open without a lot of punishment(if you have a little length, play it from the back). Greens rolled True, but were pretty slow when I played.
I didn't think it had any Great holes, but it was a bargin for the price & they treat you right.

Previous reviews are out of date, for sure! Big improvements underway! New owner (ClubLink) is investing in Heron Bay and you can already see the difference. Have no doubt it is well on its way to the standards that saw Golf magazine call it one of the top 10 courses you can play in Florida. Having the Marriott right next door makes it a great stay and play.

Sand on fairway poorly maintained. Pricey, greens and fairways in good shape. Par 5s against wind make them very long, 575 plus wind, Im a long hitter and couldnt reach home on two. The clubhouse can use some cleaning specially the toiets, rusty, dirty. If they charge 115 for round on Monday morning, they should keep it neat. Staff very/super friendly.
Would I play there again? Who knows! Id like to see what other people say about this course.

Due to the overabundance of sand it is better known as the Heron Bay "Beach Club". There is water on the course, but it seldom comes into play. When the rough is high one is better of using wedge to get the ball back in play.

Over-priced TPC track rumored to be sold.

Overrated

Despite its reputation, this course is not a favorite of the locals. There are few trees and little water. Sand traps are the only hazard on most holes, so unfortunately, after a few holes, the holes begin to look rather similar.

The greens are impeccable. The maintenance is excellent. But for what you are being charged, there is better value elsewhere.
