Sugarloaf is a beautiful golf course. Play can be very slow at times. Last time we played (2 players) it took over 5 hours. Players in front were not letting us through evene with 2 holes open in front of them. No Marshalls. We called number on card to get assistance with slow play and it was the call center not the pro shop.

This past weekend I had the opportunity to play at Sugarloaf Mountain for the first time with some friends. We had an absolute blast! The course was in really good condition and we kept having to remind ourselves that we we’re playing a course in Florida. The views are amazing. Their greens were some of the best I’ve played in central Florida lately. Tough but awesome design! This course might be a drive but it is well worth it! We’ll be back soon.

Perhaps one day Sugarloaf would be a great place to play golf, it is challenging track, but the winter has taken it's toll on all the Rye it's burned up, the greens have taken it rough. The fairways are like cow passures right now. When the course was disigned the surrounding areas were under development but with everything gone bust in the market no money is being put back into the course right now. I do recommend playing the course dispite it condition.

The fairways and rough were not in good shape. Course just looked brown with weeds in fairways. Greens were surprisingly maintained well despite the fairways. Decent value using the execgolf card.

Our group played Sugarloaf on 03/22/10. To say that the course is in terrible condition is probably an understatenent. While the greens look green and seem to be maintained, the rest of the course is almost in shambles. Despite the discounted price given to us, the cost was extremely high for a course in such bad repair. I am puzzled about why the native oak trees had misters spraying on them and the fairways lay brown and bare in spots. Although I live in Lake County, I will not go back to Sugarloaf until I hear reports that the course is being properly maintained and that the price has dropped significantly.

I love to golf and have played a few courses, so when it comes to reviewing a course the first thing I will talk about is how the course looks. Sugarloaf has an exceptional layout but the fairways, the rough and the bunkers are in terrible shape. The grass is burnt and what little grass there is on the greens. You can see that they do take care of the greens, but for the money my group paid it was not worth the drive, I was very disappointed with the course. I wish that I could have given it a better rating, but I can't lie. The range is ok and the very small club shack is ok. As we drove up we was greeted well and at the end of the round, I was given a discount card to come back. I play course's in Orlando alot, but I am not too sure if I would take the time to drive out to Sugarloaf again. I played it on 3/14/10.

Played this course on Sunday 4/19/09. They do not have a clubhouse yet but there is a driving range & everyone was very nice. Very nice layout different from anything else in the Orlando area. There are some 100' elevation changes. It is a long, senic, fair challenge. The green's were a little rough from the hard winter. It also needs some time to mature but overall an interesting test.

Great new course designed by Coore/Crenshaw with spectacular views of Lake Apopka and waste areas and hills.
