Cinnabar Mountain Course

I have played this 9 hole track many times and always find it challenging. I especially like playing 4 which is a dogleg streched out over a barranca and a serious OB on the right. Green sits elevated and easily reached in 2 assuming you chose the right club for the tee. Long hitters may want to choose 3 wood. A too long drive puts you in rough country and maybe the next faifway perpendicular. A slice will cost you another ball.
The tees for holes 7 and 9 actually cross high up on a hillside and in both cases you have a substantial drive to meet the fairway. 6 is a par 5 and is reachable in 2 for fairly long hitters, but even average hitters like me a generally putting for bird. 9 is also downhill and crosses a barranca to an uphill slope of a fairway dotted with bunkers. If you have a hard slice you will find the practice range, a soft slice and your in the bunkers. Left is OB so real good idea to be straight here.

One of the two good 9's at Cinnibar

Both the Mountain and Lake 9's at Cinnibar are challenging, fair tests of your game. Tremendous eye candy througout, starting with a beautiful par 5 stretched out beyond the elevated teebox. The greens are subtle and fast, but not tricked-out and roll true. The twilight rate at Cinnibar is the best deal in Northern California golf, and playing at that time will also reward you with some spectacular sunset views. Reasonable pace, due in part to GPS equiped carts allowed on the fairways. Great, but crowded range and large practice green and short game area. Cinnibar is a must-play for the visiting golfer, but make certain that you are playing the Lake/Mountain duo.

I've played Cinnabar dozens of times. The three nines are nice courses with the Lake course as my favorite.

The club ghouse is nice, the bar and restaruant are good and the outdoor seating section very nice.

My only two complaints about the course are; the abominably slow pace of play which has basically caused me to take my gold game elsewhere and the small practice green for chipping and sand practice.

I am an 11hc and I have played all three 9 hole courses many times. I love the difficulty and the greens are fast and run true. I would say one minus is slow play. You will loss a golf ball or two so bring extras. I always have a great time and this course kick my.
