Talon Golf Course Description

The 18-hole "Talon" course at the Grayhawk Golf Club facility in Scottsdale, Arizona features 6,973 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. The course rating is 74.3 and it has a slope rating of 141 on Bermuda grass. Designed by Gary Panks, ASGCA/David Graham, the Talon golf course opened in 1994. Dale Cochran manages the course as the General Manager.

Great, scenic course. Difficult. A shot-makers course that forces you to choose between playing it safe off the tee and having a long second shot vs. pulling out the driver and ending up in the desert in order to try and shorten that second shot. Trust me, opt for the 3 wood or long iron off the tee. The greens were in great shape and the course was beautiful.

I can't believe there has not been a review of this fabulous course. This course has a different character from its sister course, The Raptor. Here you play the course like Lefty likes it...long and to the left of right handers... the Talon is where I take the Business Golfers when I take my show on the road. It is one of the best places to get away form the Ho-Humness of the more popular courses that have become a cliche' for the business golfer.... Both courses are a little over priced...maybe they will bring them down to earth and get them back into the market and they will start getting more attention from more golfers...espically the out of town business golfer..
