The facility team is great. Very safe if you are worried about COVID. Great practice facility included in the price. Bayonet is a long course and I played it for the first time, but luckily was paired with experienced players who gave advice. Lots of trees lining sizeable fairways, and lots of fairway and green traps, but none with super high lips. Greens are smooth and fast. I had 2 birdies under 2 feet.

Lots of sand traps and rolling fairways. But a fun coarse.

Nice scenery. Being refurbished. Decent layout. Well kept up and nice service. However, the greens are atrocious. Keep your eyes open and you might find a windmill, skee-ball jump or a clown opening his mouth. The greens are absurd, often with 4 major levels. Cups are oven placed within 2 feet of a major drop-off. Overrun a putt from 7 feet by 24" and you may end up off the green, 45 feet away. The renovators have not figured out the difference be real golf and miniature golf. What could otherwise be a nice golf experience becomes a pathetic, tedious event. As another poster noted, 5 putts are not uncommon. Remember the US Open at the Olympic Club where golfers hit putts uphill past the cup only to have the ball come back by the cup and then run past where the putt started? Well.... welcome to the absurdity of Bayonet. Never again.

Great course(s), nice scenery, beautiful white sand bunkers, etc. The greens are ridiculously hard though, almost to a fault. 80% of my shots are on the greens, 5 putting is not unrealistic.

Definitely worth the money. It's very challenging off the tees with very narrow fairways and the greens have a lot of subtle breaks. The entire course has brand new grass after the developers have fixed the place up and dumped an unreal amount of money into it.

Crowded at times right now since 18 of the 36 holes are closed. The front nine for Bayonet is open with the back nine for Blackhorse completing it. Front nince to Bayonet is very straight forward but the back nine to Blackhorse requires some course knowledge or someone to guide you around.

The course was always a secret for any military person who was an avid golfer - now the rest of the world can experience it. Go play Bayonet/Blackhorse - it's as well kept and challenging as any course in Northern California let alone Monterey.

Part of the old Ft. Ord golf complex I think. If so, I played it in 1967 and it was a great course.
