By far the highest quality greens you'll find on any public golf course in Orange County. That alone makes this course a great value. Elevated approaches and tees make for fun and rewarding golf shots but one can see this would be a challange to high handicappers. You can't spray the ball all over the place like you can at most public tracks. Cheapest beer in town and a staff that really seems to appreciate the customers.

Played it twice before the GPS, however I don't think GPS can fix what's wrong with this course. The greens and tee boxes are all elavated due to the fact that this course is built out of a old river duct. Course is made annoyingly difficult and it'll frustrate you to not want to play there again. The 2nd (and last) time I played there we almost got into a fist fight with the grounds-keeper because our beginner playing partner didn't fully know the rules of golf. Plus he kept hitting his ball into us. You'll have to pay me to play there.

AVOID THIS COURSE AT ALL COSTS!!!! The course is set in the old Santa Ana river bed (dry). With the exception of #'s 1, 2, 9, 14 and 18, all the other 13 holes are exactly the same. . . . . All tee boxes and greens are on top of the river banks and all fairways are in the river bottom. We got tired of looking at the same thing hole after hole after hole. The greens were very, very lush to the point they were pumping (over-watered). With each step, you could feel the green move under your foot. I plugged at least 3 balls in the green. The GPS on the carts is nice, but GPS does not account for how far below the green you are while standing in the river bed fairway. Some greens were at least 60 feet above you with most being about 20-40 above. The staff was really nice. So, having said that, if you want to play, go take a look at the course and decide before you play. This course sucks!!!!

I really like this course. I am not that great of a golfer but this course is somewhat fun. I have not played it when the river is flowing but it is well maintained. You more than likely will not have a flat lie but your shot imagination can lead to a good round if your an above average golfer. There are a variety of holes on this course with a few dog legs that you have to hit down into the fairway and up a fairly steep hill. Lots of fun and the staff is very friendly! I have golfed there 4 times this year with my best score being an 88, 95 101 and 101. As I said before, alot of fun and the greens are great with the exceptions of a few ball marks. I usually repair around 3 every hole.

For the price, this course is really good. It is long, but not too long. A couple dog legs here & there, and a handful of par 5s. This course is located in the river basin, but a lot of the water areas are dried out so the difficulty is no longer an issue. After a rainy season, this course has the potential to become very challenging. Many of the holes run parallel to one another, keep an ear out for many “fores!”

The longest game I have ever played. 6.5 hours for a round of golf is unbearable. Some holes have a very strange layout (#4).

Challenging course. they now have gps on the carts which is great. ranger is a young dumb kid with no commonsense though.

Challenging without being unreal, lots of elevated tees feel like you can drive for miles. fast greens are well maintained, some of the fairways are not very good in the basins but the ones above are good shape, lots of fun during the rainy season with water in play everywhere, not the same old So.Cal course

It's a river basin - but overall it is a nice place to play. Lot's of elivated greens that don't stick.
