Apache Stronghold Golf Club, San Carlos, AZ

Played winter conditions on three perfect January days, 27 holes a day. The course was dormant which made ball striking in the fairways a real challenge, some of the greens were good, some not. golf carts need to be re-directed with rope, etc. away from the greens and approaches. The course layout is awesome, another Tom Doak masterpiece. The new Director of Golf is making some headway on the maintenance, but will take some time. The hospitality of the staff is first class, they are all trying very hard to create a unique golf experience. We will be back with a larger group in the early spring.

New golf director is making big improvements to the course and clubhouse. Tee box and greens were good, and they have started to work on the bunkers, which need it. Great price and hospitality well worth the trip. Should be even better next year.
