I played this course last Saturday (4/18) and also on Good Friday (4/10). This is a great course.

The thing to remember is that it is still March and not all the grass is greened yet. We've had an exceptionally wet year this year also. So the conditions of the course are not up to 100% but by May this will be perfect.

Yes the 8th hole is being reworked but they moved the tee box up, which works for me considering the difficulty of the hole.

Overall this is one of my favorite courses in the area. At $28.00 you can't beat this course.

My wife and I played the course today (March 16). The staff was very friendly. The course has potential, but sadly the fairways were ragged and #8 was partially unplayable and being re-done. The GPS in the carts is helpful.

There are some 'funny' holes - 90 degree doglegs.

The local members were out in force and seemed to dominate play. We felt pressured from behind and had to wait on occasion for the group in front.

It's a good course for the money but could be so much more with an investment in quality fairways.

The course played long with most par 4's approaching 400 yards from the white tees. The par 5's were even longer.

I would give this 3 stars out of 5.

I have played courses from California to Canada and have not found a more complete package. The friendly staff, magnificent course condition, breathtaking views and challenging layout make it one of the best kept secrets in Arkansas. The fees are reasonable $30 to $35 even on weekends. Getting a starting time was surprisingly easy and upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly staff that was eager to insure we had an enjoyable golf experience. The typical "country club" attitude one would expect at at a semi private gated community was no where to be found at Diamondhead. Everyone we met was pleasent and helpful(Even sharing local course knowledge which was very helpful) Diamondhead is one of those places that you should go out of your way to experience. If you are up to the challenge.

I played the course for the 1st time today. It's probably one of the best courses in the area. For the price you pay its well worth. It is kept in EXCELLENT condition and has some tuff holes. The GPS system in the carts is very helpful to. The staff was very friendly and even gave my friend a free "congrats" sandwhich for a eagle on the Par 5 9th hole. The only thing that I didn't like was the guy in the pro shop. We got there 2 minutes past our tee time becuase we couldn't find the place and he chewed us out for it. YES 2 MINUTES PAST our tee time. He actually said your 2 minutes late and got pissed at us, but the other 2 ladies were extremely nice. Great course. Must play!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You won't be able to find a better value in this area for a good golfing experience. $35 for 18 holes, a bucket of balls, and a cart with GPS. You can't beat it. It's a great layout with a lot of undulating fairways and greens. Holes 1 and 3 are picturesque. Nice people. Very recommended

On December 23, 2007, a buddy and I from out of town arrived at the course around 11:00 in the afternoon. As we made it to the clubhouse we encountered a say the least. I asked the guy who was going to check us out in the pro shop if we could play. He replied, "not now you aren't." He went on to say, "I have no idea when we are going to allow play, it's still too cold, besides there is a big group of six in front of you." After listening to this jack*** talk and realizing there were only six cars in the parking lot, I knew that out of town golfers weren't welcome. I do not recommend this course to anyone. We drove just a few miles down the road to play Belvedere and had a great time and the course was in fantastic shape for the end of December. The staff at Diamondhead were unprofessional and couldn't grasp that the greens weren't frozen, they just didn't want anyone from out of town to play and possibly hold up the "regulars!" If you want a challenge and have a good time...go to Belvedere!

I found this course to be a good value and a good challenge. The extra $3 for the GPS is worth it, as some of the yardage markers aren't very accurate ... the GPS saved me several times from using the wrong club. The driving range is weak, but the course is worth a try.
