The 18-hole "St. Paul G.C." course at the St. Paul Golf Club facility in St Paul, Alberta features all the hallmarks of Alberta golf. St. Paul G.C. golf course opened in 1958. Jerrid Pasitney manages the course as the General Manager.
I have travelled to St.paul to golf several times this year for the reason being the golf course is in beautiful shape, brand new big beautiful club house with a very nice pro shop. They have an amazing kitchen with fantastic cooks. Fairways and greens are in perfect condition and rates are cheap. The organization and cleanliness of the facility is top notch. Cannot wait to go back. To anyone who has been hitting rocks on the course with their irons, move the ball off of the cart path and into the fairway, I am sure your friends wont mind. And about the manager gambling and golfing, for the obvious local who has a hate on for manager, keep your opinions to yourself, this is a spread for people to pass on information about golf courses, not grudge matches. For the manager to be golfing and gambling all of the time and have a facility this well organized, he/she must be one organized individual to keep things that well kept. WORK HARD PLAY HARD.
This is the worst golf course in Alberta. The tees are covered in chick weed, the greens have roots growing on them, the staff is rude, the food and beverages are overpriced, and all of the seniors are pushy snobs. I am 57, and have never experienced such a total waste of time and money. I also had to get repairs done on my 5 and 7 irons from hitting rocks...in the middle of the fairway!Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere! What a craphole!
This is the worst course in Alberta. You can make all the excuses you want about the weather. Every other course in Alberta has had the same, yet, small towns like New Norway and Alix have better conditions than the St.Paul golf course. The rough is barren, the fairways are like cement, my tees kept breaking every time I teed up because they were never aerated or watered. The greens.... well they have more bare patches than a parvovirus infected coyote! Save yourself time and LOTS of money and golf anywhere but the St. Paul golf course.
I am a long time member and find the other review from an obviously disgruntled member inappropriate and grossly inaccurate. So far this year St. Paul has not had any rain at all, as well as a record breaking cold May. Because of these conditions (not the Groundskeeper) the course is not in the best shape it has been in but it is shaping up quickly. As far as the driving range goes, yes it would be fantastic to have a full driving range but as I understand, it was taken down because of liabilities and had nothing to do with the manager. I golf nearly every day and rarely do I see the manager golf except for our Men's Night. I do not see anything wrong with this, he probably works at the golf course because he enjoys golf??. Lastly, as far as the rates/amenities go, the St. Paul Golf Club is the least expensive course in the region. Setting it straight...
I golfed this course 3 years ago, and it was fantastic! They changed groundskeepers, the clubhouse manager, and now the course is HORRIBLE!!!! They also raised the prices on all amnetities. The clubhouse manager spends more time golfing(gambling while doing so) than managing the goings on. He has neglected the once very popular driving range to a point where you just hit balls into a net 5 feet away from you, so that it is useless even paying for the balls. If you want to waste your time on a dried up, overpriced, bround dirt golfing experience, come to St.Paul golf/dirt course.WHAT A JOKE!!! NO STARS FOR THIS VERY POOR GOLF COURSE!!!
