Are TRUE OG3 High Golf Boots Ideal for Winter? I Found Out
I tested these new golf boots through 36 holes of miserable conditions. Find out how they performed.

TRUE OG3 High golf boots after 36 holes of testing in miserable conditions
The TRUE OG3 High golf boots claim to be Made for Misery and I put that claim to the test by walking 36 treacherous holes in them.
I wore the OG3 High for my last two rounds of the season. One late-October round came after a frost delay, and another early-November round followed a day of steady rain, providing ample experience in the exact conditions these golf boots were made for.
So, is it possible to live up to TRUE’s tagline and enjoy the walk in the miserable conditions that these golf boots were made to tackle? Here’s my complete life-tested review.

These golf boots keep your feet warm and dry in the most extreme conditions that almost anyone would consider playing golf in. They’re ideal for players who play golf year-round despite wet and cold conditions during part of the year.

TRUE OG3 High Comfort: 10/10

TRUE Linkswear is known for comfortable golf shoes, and much of that comfort comes from the wide toe box, zero drop profile that TRUE leans into. The OG3 High features both, and once again, the result is top-notch comfort.
Walking 36 holes in cold, wet, muddy conditions tests footwear more than any other piece of equipment, and the OG3 High passed with flying colors.
The fit is true to size, and even though these golf boots are equipped with a wide toe box, they provided some snuggly warmth to my feet, which have never been accused of being wide.

The 9 Best Golf Shoes for Walking of 2025
Traction: 7/10

Traction is the only area where I left my OG3 High test disappointed. For a shoe that bills itself as Made for Misery, I expected it to hold up to the sloppy fall conditions a little better.
The spikeless outsole was satisfactory in normal conditions, both dry and wet, but it didn’t handle muddy ground well. The tread became caked with mud, negating much of the traction I had enjoyed up to that point.
Waterproofing: 9/10
Playing in sloppy, wet conditions, I put the OG3 High’s waterproofing to the test, and it passed. These boots not only keep your feet dry, but they kept my feet warm as well, which I appreciated considering I don’t think the temperature escaped the 40s at any point during my testing.
TRUE backs the OG3 High with a 2-year waterproof warranty, which is about as good as you’ll find on a golf shoe (or boot, in this case) these days.

The 9 Best Waterproof Golf Shoes of 2025
Style: 8/10

If I had one word to describe the style of the OG3 High, it would be safe. They’re available in two color options: black, and nimbus (which appears to be a fancy word for white). From a style perspective, there’s nothing groundbreaking going on here, and more often than not, that’s a good thing.

Value: 8/10
These golf boots set you back $235, so they’re not cheap. That said, based on my testing, you get what you pay for, and that means that they do have value.
For any player who braves dicey conditions, or plays year-round anywhere north of the Mason-Dixon line, this is exactly the type of footwear you need to make those rounds enjoyable, not miserable.
On top of that, the two-year waterproof warranty gives confidence that these golf boots will hold up for a couple seasons or more, which adds to the value.
