Absolutely the best value you can get for a true Championship Course. Walked with the US Amatuer last year and saw it eat up the best in the world. True Links golf just like in Ireland and Scotland. If you don't know how to play links, get a Caddy and learn something new. This course is better than any of the Bandon courses and I have played them all.

Had a great time. Foggy upon arrival, and the fog slowly cleared as we played the first few holes.... slowly revealing teh Sound and the Cascades in the background. Very pretty setting. Golf was much like I've been told the Irish courses play like... lots of interesting bounces and breaks. Played with a caddy for the first time ever, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience (thanks Ed!). A bit pricey, for sure, but seemed pretty reasonable compared to the rates other top-rated courses are charging. A very unique layout that you should play once if you get the chance.

Played the course in 38 degrees and no wind on 11/28/10. Course was in perfect condition three days after snow. Greens gave me fits all day - they were very fast. Impossible to fire at the flags - I had to play to spots on the green and when I missed I was in trouble. The staff was super nice - both the pro shop and the starter - could not ask for a better experience. The walk is hilly, but not that bad - I was never really out of breat and I don't work out. I played all the Bandon courses and this is right up with them for a links golf experience.

06-13-10 - Great course but not to the caliber to be ready for the 2010 US Amateur Championship. Maybe for the 2015 US open it could be. Re-open hole #4 (par 5) but for over a year and during some days in the week will be played on a temp par-4 hole. Course it still not in pristine conditions. May greens are under repair and the grass (from fairways to greens)have tough time to grow. It will come with time. The setting is spectacular and will be very unique. The entire staff are very courteous and pleasant (really focus on customer satisfaction). The course can only be played by walk with or without a caddie. Very difficult to walk - need to be in very good physical conditions. Climb on steep slopes. Many tricky shots if it is your first time. A lot of waste bunkers... I would to go back when the course will command the steep asking price. Order course in the Seattle area offer better value (Re: Washington National). Hope this help...

Just a great golf course, and fantastic venue for the Open in a few years, play it soon before it gets to crowded and expensive. We checked out and found the Home Course in Dupont as another good course somewhat nearby

A phenomenal golf course... golf at its purest and finest. Played on the first warm day of the year....the greens were firm but fair. You will remember many of the holes on this course, which is a testament to its greatness. I also played Loomis Trail... supposedly the number 1 in Washington State....NOT! This course is LEGEND and is now in my top 3...only 25 minutes from SeaTAC Airport and if you are even close... do not miss the opportunity to play it.... SERIOUSLY! Take a caddie and bring your A game and you can score...and while you play it.... look at the greens and see just how diabolical they could make them if they wanted to.... this is a VERY special golf course!

We took advantage of the lower winter rates and lucked out with some great weather. The course is stunning and demands a different style of play than the typical target course in the NW. Played with a caddie and his local knowledge easily saved multiple strokes. He would let me know that hitting to a particular side of the hole would let the ball feed in the right direction which was pretty cool. Because there aren't any trees on the course (well, ok there is one :-)) your sense of distance is challenged and it was good to know when to club up or down. The facilities are not fully developed yet but they are planning a pretty grand clubhouse that will fit with the status they have achieved so quickly.

This will soon be one of the best tests of golf on the west coast and eventually in the US. There will be a major USGA event here soon. It is very similar in layout to the better links courses in Ireland...only one tree on the course. It still needs a few years for the waste areas to mature and greens to fill in but it is an absolutely magnificent settting. Get a caddy on your first round--invaluable in recommending line off the tee and shot placement.

If you're in the Sea Tac area and have your sticks, Chambers Bay is a "must play".

Ridiculously overpriced for a muni but a spectacular setting and fine test of golf nevertheless. Look out Bandon Dunes.

Played the course on 07.06.07 as I got a cancellation on the internet. Was a bit shocked to have to pay $175, but in the end it was worth it.

Played with some residents who hired a caddie and he was quite helpful. As you have to walk, you do have to be fit. No Carts and I hope they never allow them. Just the special pull carts that you can roll over the greens. Being only 10 days old, I can tell you the greens are thin and not fast making them pretty easy to score. When they mature this will be a tough challenge.

Real special experience and excellent service. You can practice every shot on the range.

worth the wait, and worth the price if you're a pierce county resident. . .
