Overall this course is well maintained and is a good value for the money. They offer a military and senior citizen's discount and other weekday specials. On many of the holes you are blind to the green, this can be a challenge for the first time player. Should add a course layout to the scorecard or provide a separate course layout sheet. Have played here several times this summer and plan to go back again.

Sometimes I think it's a little spendy for the course. But the course is always in great condition and they have a grass driving range. Play can be slow sometimes but not too bad.

Golf in this area is more expensive than in the area of NC where I live. Only the better courses in my area ask 35 dollars for an afternoon rate during the week. This is what I paid here. The tee boxes were in good shape. The greens were also in decent shape but a little slow. Fairways were not in good shape. The grass was just starting to grow in and was very clumpy. Very hard in some places and soaking wet in others. A few spots totally bare. The rough is very tough. Lots of blind shots. Not many yardage markers and scorecard and hole markers listed different yardage. No marshal and pace of play is very slow. Its not a terrible course....lots of pretty views....could be a great course with a little more care but not worth what they are charging.

Club and ball washers on all carts; carts are newer. Scenic views. NO MILITARY DISCOUNT; they offer a middle of the week day for the military while they are busy working: lame. Military guys save your ~$15 bucks difference by going to Medal Of Honor course 3mi away on Quantico and have a few.

A few blind shots, fairways are nice. The greens can be tricky and change speeds on you. Trick is to keep it on the fairway, plenty of over growth on the outsides. Also putt from off the green when you are close, the ground is usually very soft and your club will slice through the ground like butter and you ball will barely move.

I really enjoyed playing this course. It is very pretty with interesting and challenging holes. There are very few flat lies because of the contours on and off the fairways. The rough is very punishing ... you really must keep the ball on the fairway to get a reasonable score. The Bermuda rough will grab errant shots and you can spend quite a bit of time looking for a ball that was just off the fairway.

My one complaint is that the greens were slow and bumpy. The excuse offerred was that they were aerated about 2 weeks previously and had not yet returned to normal. I suspect this is only part of the problem though.
