Hermitage Golf Course

I played this course on 6/17/2011 from the blue tees. There was not a single blade of grass out place and the holes are routed so you feel like you have the course to yourself. Fairways are large and the course was very playable on the first visit. The layout was suprisingly flat with the exception of the downhill par 4 11th (my favorite). The conditioning was worth the fee, but I left wondering how this was a top 10 course.

For the weather that the South has endured the maintenance crews have done a marvelous job at keeping the course in top notch shape. The entire course looks like it was unaffected by the heat. On several occasions, I ran into the mowers and they would not only get off the fairway, they'd also turn their equipment off. Which was very respectful and something I personally have never seen before. The fairways themselves really do feel like carpet, the ball seems to sit high on the grass making for great looking shots and ball spin (what I experienced anyway) The greens are cooled by two high powered fans and ball roll is wonderful. The tees hitting over the water to the fairways are the best in my opinion and I have to say, the GPS on the golf carts is just awesome! $70 fee to play, worth every penny.
