The Good is what Highland Rim used to be, a beautiful course friendly staff from the owner to the grounds personal.
The Bad,
The name "Nashville National" really! it sounds like an airport or a car rental company or an insurance company and it's name is turning it's nose up to the locals of Joelton and Pleasant View. Prices on everything have been raised food, drinks, and everything in proshop to include greens fees and memberships.
The Ugly, The greens are in the worst shape of any course I have been to, they are ruff and dried out and slow. you can't ever play all 18 because the greens are either damaged or attempting to be repaired by inexperienced staff, not the staffs fault just that the owner is too cheap to pay for professionals. they don't even have a full time Superintendent.
Who wants to fight nashville traffic and drive 40 minutes only to be disappointed and pay more for it. They do have a nice website now but it is riddled with Bait and Switch statements to sucker you in. the website says "Not a single home fronts the course - and never will " yet the first thing you see after passing the Highland Rim logo (which is airbrushed over on the website to read Nashville National) is a run down unmaintained rental house. The website says "new ownership is taking this course and its amenities in a new direction. You'll likely see something new, different, or improved every time you visit" WOW! what a false statement, this place has gone Way Downhill since the new owner has taken over. The pictures of the course on the website are breathtaking but are all from what the previous owners accomplished and maintained. . If you do go beware of what was one of the coolest features of the course The Bridge over the river going to #10 it is now Broken Cracked and has many holes you can see right through it, be careful it is unsafe! Don't take my word for it go see for yourself. If you do i'm sure you won't ever go back.

This is a can't miss golf course to go to. They have worked VERY hard to improve the course and replaced the greens. See the web sites for details. But the staff goes over and beyond to make sure you have a GREAT outing. The course is challanging so bring your A game.I have been treated extremly well on every visit so I can't ask for anymore. keep up the great work!!!!!

I was very impressed by this course and the general niceness of the people that work there. The course got a a bit backed up by what appeared to be a juniors tournament, but no more than a popular course on a weekend. Overall a very good course that will challenge you with layout rather than length. Lots of well placed hazards and blind shots throughout.

I'm from pretty far out of town, but I have family that lives in Nashville. Every time I visit, even if only for a weekend, we play this course. The scenery is exhilarating, and the greens are some of the best in the area. I have never met a nicer staff, and the course can be challenging enough for a 5 handicap to enjoy, but easy enough for my little boy to enjoy too!

This is by far the most valuable course I have ever played. I could not believe that I only paid 25 dollars to play that course when I finished. The only downside is that it can get a little muddy after it rains... but for me I still play a day after it rains because I can't get enough of the place. The owners are the nicest people and the scenery is just phenomenal. This course is simply breathtaking.

The scenery is beautiful with fountains, bluffs and rolling hills.
Greens are well kept and are very challenging. Fairways are generous but if you hit out-of-bounds you'll have trouble finding your ball. GPS computer on the carts are awesome.
Not crowded...great pricing
Played there once and will definetly go again.

Lovely Course, well kept. Somewhat short but makes up for it with nice elevation changes.

This has to be my overall favorite course so far, the GPS systems in the golf carts are truly amazing! You can see the other golfers as well as the distance to the hole. You can also order food and drinks through the onboard computer, and the gentleman will deliver it to you. This MAY be the reason there are only two water stations throughout the whole course... Add more water stations and I'd raise the amenities score to a 5.

Excellent course

This is my favorite course to play in the Nashville metro area, and, for the price, it is by far the best value. Some of the holes (2, 6 and 7 especially) tend to be a little muddy, so it is best not to play for a couple of days after heavy rains. The scenery is absolute gorgeous.

Beautiful !!!

This is by far the most beautiful course I've ever played. The lay out is great. Hilly course with very nice bent greens. Copperhead snakes in the woods. Be careful ball hunting! Unless your long and straight, it is also challenging. a must play course!
