After having read the other reviews I will say that Glen Mills lives up to the hype in most areas but not all of them. It's true the the maintainance of the course is excellent from tee to green. The greens are somewhat fast but very fair and manageable. The scenery is terrific and the layout of the course is wonderful with many unique holes. The S shaped 5th with multiple bunkers guarding the green and the 17th where you need to carry some natural rocky landscape probably were my two favorite holes. So what are the drawbacks?? Believe it or not, despite what most reviews state, this course isn't that challenging and could be longer. I'm definately not the worlds greatest golfer either. It's tight, but as one review accurately pointed out, many shots are made to look better than they really are due to the multiple hills surrounding fairways kicking poor shots onto them giving the appearance that you hit a quality shot. If you can just avoid going out of bounds and want to shoot a better score than you probably truly deserve play here. The winter rate of $50 is the most the course is worth regardless of the time of year. Don't get me wrong, it's a fun course to play for the reasons stated above, just not the best thing since sliced bread. I think the course at Deleware Park has all the same attributes and more because it is more challenging. Glen Mills, however, is worth a play though. They do have logo balls, a plus for the collector like myself. Overall rating A-

At a winter rate of $50, this course is a deal. The greens & fairways were in excellent shape.

It's not inexpensive at $90. The facilities are high end. Walking costs the same as riding which I like, since I prefer to walk. There are active rangers out there moving slow groups along, and informing groups behind them that they have asked the slow group to speed up. The course is in fantastic shape, well manicured. The layout is challenging, some narrow fairways, some small greens, some blind tee shots. Play your first round with someone who knows the course if you can. Some real links style greens with severe mounds which are pretty interesting to putt on. This is a top class course which seems to blend into the scenic surroundings rather than having been forcefully cut into the environment. The great work they do with the school is what makes it less difficult to pay the $90. I'll play here twice a year and enjoy it a lot.

I played this course on 4/24 and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We played the twilight rate for $65 and it was certainly a great value at that price. The fairways had recently been aerated, but everything else was in great condition. We saw the course rangers numerous times and they were proactive with efforts to speed up a couple of groups that were slowing the pace of play. This is one of the nicer courses in southeastern PA and definitely a top-tier public. Everyone should play this course at some point.

Couldn't ask for much more from a course. All around just fantastic. Elevation changes. Every hole is completely different, and each hole offers lots of choices.

Great course, don't really know why their would be any negative comments on this course. Huge piece of property, great layout, fair design, little tight and i think they could have made it a bit longer but almost every hole is a cool hole. I have played all over the world and this course is special. Make an effort to play this course, you won't be disappointed.

Absolutely not worth $95. Maybe I expected too much but this was a hugh disappointment. Tee times are scheduled 12 minutes apart and there was no starter. We teed off at exactly 8:00 and while we were putting on the first green there was a group waiting in the fairway to hit onto our green (our highest score was 6 with no unnessecary delays). By the 4th hole we had rangers "politely" moving us along. We finish the round in 4:20 which is certainly not slow. The maintenance of the facilities were fantastic. The layout of the course is another matter. I highly doubt that I'd go back because there are plenty of courses in the area that cost much less and are just as nice.

A little pricy but well worth it. This course is one of the toughest around the delaware valley. Extremely well kept and pretty. Staff was very nice and courteous. Be prepared for a long day, as some holes are just plain mean.

This is one of the best public courses in the area. It is a difficult and challenging course that is usually in great shape. The greens are pretty fast and in good condition. The layout is great, there are a few easy holes but there are many hard holes, especially by the time you get to 17. The 17th hole requires a long carry off the tee. Your landing area is very small on this hole, if you go to far left you are O.B., too far right and you are blocked out for your 2nd shot.

This is really one of the best courses in the area. It is a dry course though - no alcohol is sold at the course.

Very fun course and a great facility that supports a wonderful cause. The front nine is solid, with almost no weak spots (although I wasn’t crazy about the narrow, par 5 sixth). The back nine stumbles a bit, with some really great holes (12, 14, 15), and some holes that are not up to the standard of the rest of the course (11 is awful, 16 is totally out of character and looks like something RTJ Sr threw up in 1964, and 17 is forgettable). I could do without some of the concave features of the course that kick bad shots into good places, but I suppose it makes for fun golf.

Glen Mills is a solid course and one of the better public courses in the area, even with a few weak spots.

Beautiful course, well maintained. Ice chests on front and back nines filled with chilled towels are a welcomed relief on a hot day.

Great course. A real treat to play. This course is extremely challenging but still fun to play. Maintenance does a incredible job keeping it in tip top shape. It is well laid out so you rarely see anyone else while you play. There are traps everywhere and many other hazards found everywhere throughout your round. All in all a great course that i will definitely add to my frequented courses

This is a terrific course. Definitely on the higher echelon of courses and it shows. The maintenance is first class from tee to green. The layout is extremely challenging but fair, with some extremely penal hazards. A real treat to play and I'm sure after playing here my everyday course will seem much easier!
