The 18-hole "Whispering Woods" course at the Whispering Woods Golf Club facility in Erie, Pennsylvania features 6,804 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. Designed by John Exley, the Whispering Woods golf course opened in 2007.
Rich Rocky has built and maintains one of the best public golf courses I have played! He continues to put his money back into the golf course and it shows, year after year. I will play this course until I no longer can play the game of golf!!
This is the real deal...and with a tee time golf pass...paid $15 instead of the normal $50. Golfed here during a 7 course Erie trip; this was the favorite. Very scenic with lots of ravines to hit over. Some would say "gimmicy"...but very fair. Tall towering trees line many of the fairways, but there is some room to stray. Obviously, the very rich surround the course...but homes are not really in sight much. The signature hole is the very short Par 4 4th with a stream meandering along the fairway...tempting the power hitter to drive the 290 to a small protected green. I found the two Par 5's on the back nine to be especially scenic and the whole course kept our senses alive. I would drive the 5 hours again to play here! Staff super friendly also!
