The Sharon Golf Club is one of the most exclusive clubs in the United States. It’s a long course (at 7,153 yards) and opened in 1965. The course designer, George Cobb, had experience redesigning some holes at Augusta National. This actually used to be a qualifying course, but that changed in recent years because the club is strictly men only. Something unique about this course is that the cart paths actually work very well with the overall design, so i’d recommend riding instead of walking this course. Sharon Golf Club is in immaculate condition, with bent grass fairways and greens that play true. There’s a large lake on the course that adds to the challenge. This club is definitely designed for more experienced golfers. The course has rolling hills throughout, and a scenic treeline in the distance. Fairways are quite open. You’ll find a 120 foot elevation drop from the tee to the green on the first hole. The clubhouse has an old yet comfortable feel that reflects the club’s heritage and membership. It was founded by a group of prominent businessmen from the Akron, Ohio area. The course has a strict dress code of collared shirts and bermuda shorts, and spikes are not allowed.
