Course Reviews

Nice track, couple of bad blind shots. Overall good value, just a little too far away from Westchester.

Skyview was a pretty challenging course that had a few corky holes. I wouldn't say it is a must play, but if you are looking for something different and challenging you may want to check it out. To see my full review of Skyview as well as other course in New Jersey go to:

The course has some of the best scenery in NJ. It's looking over trees and a lake. I played in April so the course wasn't in it's best shape. Also the greens could be a lot better. There isn't much to the clubhouse and there wasn't a cart person to bring you drinks. But all in all, hole #4 is worth the price of admission.

I would highly recommend this course to anyone looking to play a difficult course for great value. Course is kept in beautiful condition, staff is very friendly and helpful. Scenery is beautiful. Only complaints are that the layout of hole 8/15 is stupid. The teeboxes are separated only by a cartpath and many people wind up in the wrong fairway which gets annoying. Also, they aren't joking when they say #4 is the most initimidating hole in the state. I completely believe that statement after playing it. If you don't believe me, take a drive up the fairway before you hit your second shot and you'll see what I mean. It's alot of fun, but almost impossible. The rest of the course can get challenging if you aren't the most accurate golfer but it's nothing too difficult. I would recommend this course to anyone in North Jersey and will definitely be back in the near future.

I've played this course twice now. The greens are as well maintained and roll as true as any top course I've played. I usually play afternoons, and for $29, you won't find a much better course without driving another 30 minutes west. There are a few blind tee shots, but only one blind shot to the green. Its a nice alternative to the crystal springs courses.

excellent views, too many blind shots, no rangers, would only play again if no other choice

Course is beautiful and very scenic. Narrow fairways make a beginning golfer like myself fear mistakes. Course was slow on a chilly Wednesday morning in the end of April. Got birthday rate (paid only for green fees) so value was there. I would play again.

Course has a lot of blind shots which I do not mind in an amount that is not excessive. Sky View falls in the excessive category. The was not maintained to the degree that would warant the rates that they charge. Not sure about previous comments about great conditions - maybee they are blind?? Also not sure about the cheap rates - maybe they had someone else pay because this course is not cheap.

Rangers were non existing when we played on a summer weekend. Group in front of us was 4 Sparta Township Police officers and were holding everyone up. Talked to them and they were less than accomodating. I guess when you have made it as a cop in place like Sparta you can act / treat people as you like.

The course was in great shape for late September. I was not fond of the layout however. Too many blind shots. Other than the par 3's, there were only a few holes where you can see where you should hit your shot. The scenery is very nice and the staff is friendly. If you don't mind hitting blind almost all the time, play this course.

Excellent greens, fairways and tee boxes. Very tight course with some short par 4's which tempt you to unleash the driver. Make a mistake and your done. Only downfall are easy par 3's. Amazing views, fast play, and cheap prices make this a must play.

Good course worth the play (albeit with one dumb hole layout)

This course is very well maintained and easy to get tee times. It's semiprivate and not often over-crowded. Not good for walkers - very mountainous and hilly.

There is one ridiculous hole, I think it's #4 (par 5). The tee shot is blind into a narrow fairway, your second shot is a blind lay-up to a landing area and then a blind shot to a green that's about 75 feet below the landing area. If you don't hit the green with your 3rd shot then it is nearly impossible to find b/c you can't see where it lands from where you hit it. Dumb hole that was made too difficult.

Otherwise the rest of the course is fun and reasonably challenging, with a couple of shorter par 4s that long hitters can drive.
