This course has great views but is a very frustrating course. When we played greens were the hardest greens I've ever played and no matter how much loft we put nothing would hold. Course made you think some but other than that nothing special. Had a very issues with slow play from members that would not allow my twosome to play through and even had a group in front of us pick up a player that walked off from their back yard. If you can get a deal play it if not you're not missing much.

Played here in late August, conditions were terrible at a time of year when a golf course should be at its best. Several times our foursome hit fairways only to have the ball roll into the woods because of all of the sidehill lies. The only plus is the scenery and a very friendly staff.

I played this course this afternoon. My first impression...WOW...what a view from the 10th tee. You look east into Arden/Fletcher. It was amazing! The first hole is a long downhill Par 4..which I par' the day started off great! As others have pointed out..there are a LOT of elevation changes. THis is NOT a course to walk... The greens I thought were small ad very hard and difficult to hold. They were also amazingly fast for winter. Many a time I hit the green only to have the ball roll off down a hill. It was a challnge. There was a funky hole or two. There was a Par 5 o n the back which has a fairway out to the right..and the hole is actually left. I am glad I rode up and looked at it before I hit my tee shot. i put the driver back in the bag and reachd for the 5 wood. There are a lot of homes along the course...and on occasion they come into play....for me anyway! There were a lot of sidehill or downhill or uphill lies...and when I say uphill..i am talking a 2 more club shot. Overall...I loved the course. I thought the fairways were generous. The greens a little small... and the directional signs pretty good with the exception of 15. Someone actually stopped to point out the right way! I do plan on going back when things have green'd up and the rough a little longer so the shots hold up.

Mule golf. Beautiful views, but thats it. Be ready to lose balls and be frustrated. Not much of a layout, up and down, houses stuck arbitrarily everywhere. Average condition.

very beautiful course i played it today 11/9/09 and even though it is cold the greens were still beautiful and the maintence was still very good. i would recomend going in the summer or fall however because there were leaves everywhere and even if you had a good shot it was hard to find your ball on the fron 9. very nice people in the pro shop as well. very friendly. highly recomend. i played for 18 dollars and i would easily pay 40 considering muni is 28 with junior rates and winter rates added in. great course.

The course the last I played it was in pretty good condition and is fairly challenging. As stated before it has quite a bit of elevation change, some holes play short whereas others play long. The only downside is that non-members are are considered second rate, that is the impression I got anyway.

Saying this course has a lot of eleavation change is like saying Santa delivers a lot of presents. LOTS of up and down. Confusing layout/car path and too many houses. In all fairness, I played in early spring and the course was still browned out and muddy, but green grass doesn't lessen the severity of the major hills!

I used to love this course but between holes 10-14 they have built so many houses that it really took the fun out of the golf course. For example there is a new house on hole 13 right were I aim and a few times where I got all of it the ball landed on that piece of land.

The greens are in terrific shape and hard. YOU HAVE TO HIT THE RIGHT TEIR. Once you learn their greens it is not as intimidating.

I am also upset that they took some of the teeth out of hole ten. I t used to be a very hard par 3 now it is just a 6 iron....Oh well. It is now an easy par.

From the back tees it is almost as hard as Laurel Ridge. However they do allow you to walk. (and it is a back breaker)

High Vista

This is a very scenic course with a lot of elevation change throughout. The course was in great shape and is very tight but fair. You must keep it straight off the tee or you'll be chipping out of the trees but you can score from the fairway. The staff was extremely friendly and we would recommend this course when in the Asheville area. It is a great value.
