The Moncton Golf and Country Club is a semi-private course located in one of the most desirable cities in New Brunswick. With nearly a century at its current location, the course is a lovely mix of rich history and innovative updates.

Since four tees are offered, golfers of all abilities can play and enjoy this course. The par-70 back tees measure 6,213 so it's a short 18-hole course, but still offers plenty of challenges. You'll find water hazards, rolling hills and bunkers strategically placed throughout the course. The biggest challenge is the trees that line every fairway and create some pretty tight shots.

The front nine is the shorter of the two with just one par-5 hole. The fourth hole measures 532 yards and features a blind tee shot – it is best to aim for the right side of the fairway. If you are new to the course, you'll also want to be aware of a pond in the front of the green that you can't see from the fairway.

There are three par-5s on the back, including the longest hole on the course, the 541-yard 11th hole. This is a tight hole with large trees running right along the fairway on both sides.

The 15th and 16th holes are back-to-back par-5s, both over 515 yards. The 16th hole is one of the most open on the course, giving you the rare opportunity on this course to fire away with the driver.

There are many pretty views on the course, including the par-3 second hole. An elevated tee offers a glimpse of downtown Moncton.

The course is in great condition from the tees to the greens, despite being quite busy at times. Play on the weekends and expect at least a five-hour round.

In addition to the golf course, the Moncton Country Club offers many other great amenities. The clubhouse was recently renovated and is home to a new restaurant that offers a tasty selection including burgers, fish and chips and salads. A 320-yard driving range, large putting green and a greenside short game area with practice sand bunker are also on site.

Non-members can play the golf course for around $70 with cart. Specials are available for off-times so check their website or Facebook page often.
