I played here on 6/23/14 and found it to be very challenging and enjoyable. It plays in and out of a golf community with great views of Mt. Sentinel. The 4 sided tee box signs posting the yardage was a nice touch so you could see the yardage at any angle. GPS was a plus in the carts. The greens are tough and undulating but in beautiful shape. Fairways and rough were also looking good. Some tee boxes were chewed up but still fine. Some holes had a decent amount of distance between green and tee box making carts a must. Definitely play Canyon River if you're Missoula, I feel its a better bargain than The Ranch Club.

Really good starts out nice and ends very good. 1st hole is a nice not so long hole that gives you a good birdie chance. 2nd hole is extremely long par 4 which requires a tricky drive and good second shot par is good on this hole. 3rd hole is a nice par 3 but the green can be tricky if you find the right tier you'll have a great chance for birdie. 4th hole doglegs to the left a tad and is not very long find the tier on the green and you will have a good chance for birdie. 5th hole is a beautiful hole that requires a good drive down the middle and a good second shot onto a 2 tiered green. 6th hole is a short par 5 but bunkers guard the green and can be tricky to drive in 2. 7th hole is a par 3 with a huge bunker on the left it can be quite difficult. 8 is a short par 4 with a huge bunker on the right get a hold of one and you might drive the green. 9th hole is a par 5 that can be hard and not very easy to drive the green you need a good long drive but watch out cause theres a bunker you need to fly if you can reach the green great but if not be careful on your wedge in because theres a bunker behind the green that makes it very difficult to make up and down. 10th hole is a shortish par 4 driveable but theres a big water hazard on the right that comes into play. 11th hole is a driveable par 5 straight uphill the tee shot is but aim left side because you can go through the fairway if you hit it to hard. 12th hole is a straight down hill par 3 there is a very large bunker on the left and you definately do not want to go long. 13 is a straight away par 4 a lot trickier than seems because there is a fairway bunker on the right. the approach in is easy to hard depending gon the pin placement. 14 is another straight away par 4 plays a little longer than seems with a huge bunker in the front of the green and a hazard to the left. 15 is a fairly simple hole but theres a large tree in the middle of the fairway draw or fade aroudn the tree and there is a short approach into this par 5. 16 is a par 3 with a water hazard from right of the tee box that goes all the way around the hole there is also a bunker to the left. 17 is a driveable par 4 but there is bunkers everywhere from tee to green careful not to go into the bunkers cause they can be tricky to get out. 18 is a driveable par 5 straight away with hazard down the left and various bunkers

A fine new course that will improve with age. Wide fairwayws and beautiful sandtraps. The scenery is great except the freeway adjacent to the back nine.

Great course for the price

I thought the course was in great shape, greens were very nice! I would recommend playing this course if you are in Missoula. I played Old Works the next day and was disappointed in it's condition after playing here.

I found this course to be one of the better ones that Montana has to offer. As soon as they get their club house built, it will be even better. It is very user friendly, however, the strategically placed sand traps make it a challenge. Hole Number 12, a par 3 from an elevated tee, is one of the prettiest that I have seen.

must play this course

this is an outstanding course!! its new to the missoula area just opening up for its first season last year. it isnt even near completion yet. some of the black tees were not open yet which includes a monster 241 yd par four, and there are a few ponds that are going to be filled this year. ive played all around the missoula area and it is by far the course, with the best prices also. get out and play it, you wont regret it.
