I’ve played out at Birch Creek many times. Easily one of the best courses for the money anywhere near St. Louis. Pace of play is great. Fun layout and awesome greens. Check it out. It’s too bad one terrible review can harm a rating so much. This is easily a 4+ out of 5 star course.-Chad N.
One of the most scenic golf courses I've ever played. Natural surroundings display a rustic scenery rarely found on a course. If your looking for an escape and truly want to relax, then you have come to the right place. Moderately priced and the hamburgers are out of this world. Play a round once and you will be back I promise.
paulg2972 is way out of line. He played in a foursome on a very busy $20 discount day in 4hrs 10min. He was asked to wait 5 minutes at the turn so that a twosome could catch up and join the twosome ahead. Standard procedure everywhere is to have twosomes join. paulg2972 was rude and beligerent. The other players with him later apologized and played at Birch Creek the following week without him. His review is uninformed nonsense.
Would not recommend this golf course for following reason. Had a tee time today. After first 9 holes that we played in under 2 hours, owner started 2 two-somes in front of our group on back nine. We called the proshop and was given the run around. Had to wait 1/2 hour before teeing off the back 9, then had to wait on almost every shot. Spoke with owner after our round and all he did was give us excuses such as, he over booked tee times, did not have enough help, had a tournament, that one of the group he put in front of us was a member, and "what did we expect for $20". First off, he sets the rate, not the players. Told him at the golf course where I work we did not inset groups in front of players making the turn and that I thought it would be appropriate for him to give us a free round or refund our fee. He said he would refund our fee but would never let us return. Told him to keep our fees (sounds like he needs it worse than us) and that we would never play there again. If you expect to be treated with some respect, never play this course.
