Course Reviews

Outstanding! I did like Belgrade better, but without a doubt the best course within reason rates.

Maine's premier course: hands down. Testint, but fair depending on the set of tee's you play

Have organized golf weekends for 15 years, Sugarloaf was the primary choice most years. We tried Sunday River two years ago and it is now our yearly stop.
More playable for the mid-high handicap with plenty of challenge for the single-digit capper. Unlike Sugarloaf, Your driver is never far away and can be used on almost every par 4 or 5, believe me, the shorter your approach shots, the better your chance to score.
Bring your best putter, these greens can be quick and you can find yourself over-reading breaks, but pick the right line and they run true!
Greens, tee's and fairways are flawless and the Owners have assembled a great group of employee's who will go out of their way to make your golf experience at Sunday River one to remember.
A serious contender for the number one course in ALL New England.

The best course in Maine!

The best course in the state of Maine. Maybe New England I havent tried Taconic yet.
I spoke to the superintendent and he knows his stuff. This place has awesome conditions. Greens were fast, fairways were perfect. Clubhouse is awesome, this course is not a place where you want to drink a 6 pack on the course....

I did terrible here but still loved every moment. Some of my shots were in the air for 30 seconds and I was in awe.... going WOW thats 200 yrds in woods but WOW. The veiws are awesome. I would pay 250 bucks to play this place.
Its the best course ever and I played the legendary Pine Valley. The best part of this course they have many tees for all players.
This is a must play for everyone!!!

Great Course

Wow! what a course. In my opinion Best in the state. Great mountain views.

Sunday River is as good as it gets...period.

As far as golfing in Maine goes, there is nothing comparable. I have played Sugarloaf, Belgrade, Samoset, and many of the other top rated courses within the state and none provide scenery, amazing conditions, and tough play like what was found at Sunday River. From the gorgeous clubhouse, to the plush fairways, lightnight quick greens, and gorgeous views of mountains, everything was just top notch. I would recommend this course to ANY golfer. Everyone will appreciate the views, challenge, and fun.

P.S. Be careful on the cart paths, some are very steep.
