i visited this course about a year ago and wrote a review that would deter some people from golfing here. This review will be somewhat redundant of the last 2. Last year the drought killed this course. This year the maintenance dept absolutely brought this course back to its form. The greens were fantasticly fast and in great shape. The fairways really came back. Only a few dry spots in tough sloped areas where water cant stay put. This course is a tough challenge. With the Groupon deals this year the value was fantastic and I recommend this course to everyone.

After last years drought, it didn't look like this course could recover. I was very wrong and the course came back in great shape so I give a congrats to management and maintenance staff. This course is beautiful when it's at it's ultimate condition. Very challenging and enjoyable

I played the course last year and the drought that plagued the north east got the best of them. I just played a round there this past saturday and the course was in great shape. What a come back, the maint. staff should be commended. What i did notice this year from past is the greens where not only in great shape, but where fast and true. I stopped one of the maint. guys and asked what was different. He said that greens rollers where purchased in the off season. What a difference! This Rees Jones golf course has always been a top notch course, great improvements. keep up the good work.

Played there for the first time Sunday and loved this course. This a public course with a private club feel. I've played many of the courses in Central MA and this course has some of the little perks that most other courses don't have. The first one you notice is the free range balls. And you don't have to fiddle around with a machine and a bucket. The balls are stacked at the range, you walk up, hit some, and walk away. This is also the only course I've seen in this area with GPS on the carts. I don't know why more MA courses don't have these in this day and age. The course itself was beautiful. The fairways look large and wide open but still have a challenging layout and often funnel down to nestled greens. The staff was very friendly and the kid wiping down your clubs while you're putting on 18 is a nice extra touch. Again, not alot of courses do that - at least in this area. At $85 on the weekends this won't be my weekly loop (they were running a special and we paid $69) but definitely worth the treat a couple times a year.

Visited Blackstone today after review on Website. Big mistake. After allowing the frost to melt? at 11 am we teed off. Driving in course looks great no leaves nice fairways and greens. After the first hole everyting went down hill. Fairway grass is dead (lack of water this summer), but it really didn't matter since the fairways and greens were full of leaves. Appeared they hadn't removed any leaves since last year. Partner and I quit after 13 holes, wayste of time since you couln't find ball on fairway or green. Found out course is bankrupt. Most likely for reason we did not see any workers on course. Course is for sale. At 2 pm entering the parking lot, there were 8 cars there, this, on a beautiful, dry, sunny, no wind day. What a wayst of time and money. Never again, go to Glen Ellen for a real golf course.
