Enjoyable round, nice private setting. Fairways are in very nice shape. Good value at their spring rates, but they go up May 1 and make it less inviting. Biggest complaint is the greens--they're pretty bad. Extremely bumpy and have some sort of growth on them. Needs to be addressed to be a real contender in their price range.
Friday April 14, 2012Had a fantastic time playing a true test of golf for a spectacular price, $29 for cart and golf. Well worth the price compaired to the old days. The course is under new management, and the course was way to expensive for the amount of golf. The course is relatively short and you better be straight. There are a lot of lateral hazards. My favorite hole is #8, a short par 3 with water left. The staff is great, and I see good upside for this course. I recommend giving this venue a try, as it is a good test with a wide variety of shots.
This was my first time here at Wentworth Hills. I highly recommend spending a few dollars on the course book. I wish I did. This course is all about accuracy and placing your tee shot in the proper place and hitting a solid second shot. The distance off the tee to the junk is essential to know. Regardless, I thoroughly enjoyed this course. The course is in excellent condition and is a very fair layout. The back seems to play a lot shorter than the front, though it measures only 100 yds. less. We played from the Blue Tees which makes a big difference especially on #18 (2 HC). The white tees are at least 100 yds shorter on 18 making that a very short par 4. From the Blue Tees it is a very challenging uphill par 4.Great course, great condition, very friendly staff made for a great day of golf.
Bad idea to change Hole#1 back to the near the clubhouse. This course plays so slow--5 hours on a weekend.
