Maybe the top public course in northern IL. A challenging Robert Trent Jones, Jr. layout that is usually in great shape. Has the feel of a high end course without the outrageous prices or exclusive atmosphere. Some holes are a little quirky (A RTJJ staple), but overall it is very playable from the correct set of tees. Maybe I keep catching it on the wrong day, but the greens don't seem as fast as I would expect (or like). Other than that they have great facilities and many ways to get discounted rates if you are on a budget. Highly recommend, along with Shepherd's Crook, to anyone in the area.
