I played this course with my Dad. Its not the best but then again it wasen't about the golf it was about the time I got to spend with my aging Dad. It was short enough for him to reach greens in regulation from the tips and at his or any mans age it makes you feel a little bit good about yourself to play from the tips. We as men don't like to admit we aren't what we used to be.
I am a solid 7 hdcp so on those days I want to test my game I play the courses and with people to do just that. Take the course for what it is and get over yourself. A good golfer can play from any surface. Don't blame the course for your poor performance rather work on your ball striking. Sometimes people need to look at the fact your still able to play the game and get out in the sunshine and enjoy the company your with. Did you take the time to right the bad review about the course because your really dissapointed (how could you be for the price) or are you just one of those people who always complain because you won't put the blame where it belongs. your failure to do what it takes to become good at the game. Stop whining people. The glass is half full.

This course could use some better grass, better irrigation, and a better grounds keeper; However for a student this course is relatively cheap and an easy walk.

Played this course about a week ago. Here's the good news; Scenic, rolling hills, some elevation changes, unlike most Florida golf courses. Staff is friendly & helpful. Food in the restaurant is great! Otherwise, it's a moderate to short (5125 yards from the white tees)course. Interesting layout with lots of doglakes. It's difficult to get around and you can get lost (as I did several times). Greens small & circular, no variety -- cookie cutter greens. Tee boxes fair. Fairways - lousy. No Bermuda grass that I could see. Rather it was like walking along a dog park, weeds, uncut grass, in short a cow pasture with 18 flags. The price was right ($12 from what I remember) but for me, next time I'll spend a little more money and play a better golf course. This is like Lake Jovita G.C.'s poorer, little brother. I'm sure many folks enjoy this course, and more power to them but I doubt that I will ever play this course again. Not with so many better choices available in the area.

I recently was invited by my friend Rich to play the Abbey Course at Saint Leo. It was a wonderful experience. The people in the clubhouse were very friendly. The scenery is beautliful. Condition wise. Please understand you are playing golf in a cart for $20. I played University Park in Sarasota for $75 a week later. Both courses were fun. Just a different deal. After our round we had a late lunch. The burgers are thee best in the state.

This course still allows "the working man" a great place to play. I wish it was in Sarasota

What a nice day with a good friend.

I have just completed 18 holes of unprecedented anger at this golf website and this course in general. GolfLink needs to investigate whomever posted the above picture, course rating and score card details. None of this exists at the "Abbey" course at Saint Leo University in Saint Leo, FL. Bottom line for anyone contemplating a venture to this course, it's a cow pasture with 18 flags. I feel someone owe's me at least 1/2 of my $20.00 green fee back. It was pitiful.
