To make this brief, this course is misleading customers with its "Nicklaus" design. Come to find out it is a Gary Nicklaus design and not a Jack Nicklaus signature course. This course is overrated and I find it hard to believe the Slope ratings. I am a 2 handicap and shot a 73 from the back tees (a 75.3 rating) with four 3 putts. This course is a standard resort course with no memorable holes since it meanders through a residential neighborhood.

Additionally, the greens were aeriated with sand that made them basically unputtable (hence the four 3 putts). The pro shop never mentioned this to me and the starter says the greens are firm that will make it hard to hold shots. I should have left after the first hole and demanded a refund on the $94 charged (full price) for deceptive trade pratices.

Save your money and go to Camp Creek, by far the best golf experience on the Emerald Coast.

got to play this course for the first time on my trip to PCB last week with another couple. The two of us had a great time playing this challenging course. The beautiful landscaping and wild grasses can sure eat up a tee shot! Not to mention the bay, marshes, and lakes on many of the holes. Very fun, beautiful, and challenging course from the #2's. And the staff was really hospitable and helpful throughout the day from the bagdrop pickup, to the course rundown on the tee box, to the frequent drink cart offerings, to the ice cold towels. Even cold apples on the range! The best thing was we played after 11:00 for $99 for two people rate. I have never had a better value for this caliber course, will all the nice extras for less than 50 bucks per person! Surely the best deal in town. Just wish the slow foursome would have let us play through, but that's another rant... Anyways, highly recommended course if you're in the area looking for a round. You shouldn't be disappointed

Nice golf course, back nine harder than front nine. Need to be accurate off tee, you can play errant shots but it makes the hold much harder. Fast greens, but they roll true.

I am writing this review from two different prespectives. Recently I was able to bring a group of about 100 people from around North Florida, South Alabama and Western Georgia to The Marriott at Bay Point for a conference. Many of our conference attendees played golf and had a wonderful experience. I for one was pleased to know that my group had an exceptional time, as this also reflected on me. I can't thank the golf staff enough for their hospitality. For my second prespective, I am writing to those that have not been kind to Mr. Iskow and his staff in their reviews. I have had the pleasure of working with Mr. Iskow on a professional level. I have always had nothing but respect for Jay and his management style. Managing a Club/Resort with both Members and Guests is an extremely difficult job, one that I know Mr. Iskow has done and has done it very well. He beleives that the "Golf Experience" should be exceptional from the moment a Member or a Guest pulls up to the bag drop, whether it's for the 1st time or the 100th time. Please don't let a few "sour apples" ruin your golf experience at Bay Point, I for one look forward to bringing my next conference back and as always I can rest assured that my Golfers will have nothing but a fantastic time!!

I just recently visited Panama City Beach with my family for the first time, I was very pleased with all that the city had to offer in these tough economic times. I was impressed with Pier Park and all they had to offer. But what I was most impressed with was one particular golf course. I had the chance to play some golf at two courses, the Hombre and Bay Point. While the Hombre was a good golf course, I wasnt being treated like a guest of the club. When I went to Bay Point I was greeted right out of the car and all the way through the club house. When I checked in for golf I was treated like I was welcome and not being a burden to the guys behind the counter. When I reached the 1st tee of the Nicklaus course I was greeted right away. The course was in great shape and the greens were rolling like carpet. I have already planned my trip back for the end of this summer.

I have a hard time understanding what Mike07 is talking about. I have been playing Bay Point for years and each time I play there the staff is wonderfully accommadating and pleasant. The course is always conditioned beautifully and our experience is 5 star. It truely is a shame that this fine facility and it's operators are being slandered by spoiled, disgruntled, ungrateful, misinformed members who haven't a clue how to operate a successful business.

I also agree with hend. The course is maintained pretty well, but the staff is unpleasant. I can see why it may be an unpleasant environment to be in as I was standing in the pro shop heard the booming voice of Jay Iskow screaming profanities at one of the empoloyees. You could hear it all the way from the back of the clubhouse through the pro shop and into the attached Club 19 restaurant. I am also local and Mr. Iskow and Honors Golf do have a poor reputation and are widely disliked by most members.

Nice course, played the Freedom Classic here. If you hook or slice watch out for the homes on the course. LOL.

The course was good (not great)... but, I agree with 'hend'- the staff there was awful. I've played from east coast to west, they were by far the most unfriendly bunch I've come across. It was as if we were interupting them to pay our green fees. If that wasn't enough to discourage you, try to hit a bucket of balls the day before you want to play! A mere $25 for a bucket!!! Give me a break people! I wasn't asking for a free bucket, but please... $25??? Five or ten, maybe at most. And, before you ask, yes.. we were staying at the Marriott (at most Marriott courses that I've stayed and played, the range is free if you're playing there sometime during your stay).

Beautiful course, if you're in the area I'd say it's definitely a must. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Very well maintained and challenging.

This course is over rated. I like the old Lagoon Legend. Course is in good shape.
The staff is not friendly. I am local and they tend to have a better than thou attitude. Honors Golf has a terrible reputation with the membership and Jay Iskow is terrible. Play the course. It is nice.

Took a weekend getaway with a few co-workers for a golf holiday. Played this course. It was a very high end and nice course with very tough fairways and many hazards. The coolest part was the holes that ran beside St Thomas Bay. Very nice and very well worth the price. Very friendly staff. Price included greens fees, driving range and cart.
