Course is in pretty good shape, enjoy the layout and you can't beat the cost. There can definitely be heavy traffic though.

One of the hardest courses I've played in the CT area. The par 3's ( especially 3 & 17) can ruin your day. Not maintained very well however and isnt great for families/beginners. I'd still recommend Orange Hills and Sleeping Giant over this if you are trying to play a quick 9.

This is a test of your golf and well worth the trip but traffic can be heavy. The superintendent and his staff have put a lot of work into this course and it is in great shape. The greens are awesome but the rough is not to be trifled with. Beards around the greens means it is not certain that a ball running off the green will find the sand, and believe me you will want to be in the sand. Two or three fairways (13, 16 and 18) tend to be wet but drainnage is improving. Think your way around Alling and you will see your scores come down. Most of the par fours can be reached without timber and that means the hardest club to hit in the bag may remain in the bag longer than before. The 5th and 14th take a great strike off the tee though. The par threes here are tough but excellent here, 4th is a superb hole but it takes the right club to catch a narrow green. The 10th and 12th are straightforward but don't go left. The tenth green was invisible yesterday, for a 5' 7" golfer as the weeds on the bank in front of the tee are getting really tall. The 17th is a long par three which seems to play longer than it's 200 yards from the front tee. The par fives are not difficult if you play them as par fives and use three clubs to get to the greens, so again, course management is vital to achieving a good score. Only problem with the Muni is that is is closed way too often for leagues and competitions. Early birds and flexible workers have little trouble getting out and this lovely piece of New Haven real estate is well worth testing your game on.
