The 9-hole "Holly Hills" course at the Holly Hills Municipal Golf Course facility in Bay Minette, Alabama features 3,116 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 36. Designed by Earl Stone, the Holly Hills golf course opened in 1968.
The fairways are wide and forgiving. There are no water hazards. Very low chance of losing a golf ball. Eight of the 9 greens are in good shape. The 8th hole’s green is being restored. The price ($20 including cart for 9; $30 including cart for 18) are the most reasonable around for a par 72 course. The membership rates make sense if you play 6x/mo. This is the kind of course where a high handicapper can card a good score.
Holly Hills is one of the three worse golf courses I've ever played - This golf course, and it is a big stretch to call it a golf course, is in absolutely pitiful condition. The design is dangerous in that many of the tee boxes are adjacent to the greens people are hitting into, and there is a very good chance of being hit by an errant golf ball. There was no grass, dormant or otherwise on the greens, there were holes in the greens that had been filled in with sand making it impossible to putt. This course should either be closed for some serious maintenance, or closed permanently. It was in such poor condition that our group didn't even finish the round.
