Whitetail Ridge Golf Club

Ignore some of the past reviews, this is a very nice course. One of the nicest public courses I might have ever played on. Not sure if they changed the lay out, or maybe it was the 25mph winds out of the west, but this course was definitely not easy. Normally shoot mid-80's, this course handed me my a$$ today. Even most of the fairways have well guarded bunkers...greens are really fast come afternoon time, chip accordingly. What usually would be a good pitch for short putt set-up at other courses I play ended up killing my game today. Whitetail was the first place I've played in awhile that I was praying the ball didn't "release" on the green. Putting, definitely spend some time on the practice green to try to grasp the speed of the greens. Not sure if I've been playing crappy courses all summer, but I thought this was a great, challenging links-style track with country club scenic holes and hope to play it a few more times before its snowmobile season.

I have played this course many times since they opened. I have noticed a real change in the attitude of the staff. The old guys that run the carts are very surly and act as if they are doing you a favor by being there. I went to the bar after my round today and sat there for ten minutes with no service. A hostess even stood right by me looking out the window but said nothing. So I just left. What establishment has a bar with no bartender to serve someone for such a long time? Two people sitting next to me left without paying their tab because they got tired of waiting.The greens are beat to death on this course. Spike marks and ball marks all over. To be fair that is largely the fault of the patrons not following ettiquete but you would think the course would make some repairs. I think this place is overpriced. If you spend $50-$60 at a course you should get a better experience than they are offering here.
