It was a fun course. Very nice layout. However, the greens role very inconsitently. Some are slow, some play fast. Good scenary

If you enjoy landing your approaches 30 yards short of the green to have a chance of winding up on it, then this course is for you. Greens were large, undulating and rock hard, interspersed with poa annua and bent. Playing partners putted off the green more than once. Wind was blowing 30+ making the holes into the wind difficult. Definite links style golf, if that's your cup of tea.

good value and good course. backside is a bit tricky and seems very different from the front. front is more of a links, back is more modern california course. but overall, good value, relatively tough course (when wind is blowing) and not too crowded.

Maintenance was very poor when I played. Six hour round behind 5 groups gave me plenty of time to see the flaws. I don't get all the hype this course has gotten. Cheap greens fees = cheap experience.

This is a beautifully maintained course. It's a different type of course that is deceptively challenging. An unbelievable value. I thank God that I live a mere ten minutes from this golf course.

Rustic Canyon is a links style course about an hour north of LA in Moorpark or the Thousand Oaks area. It is literally nestled in a canyon that has amazing views down the canyon from the back nine. The pace of play was excellent and the course itself was designed for consistent shot makers as a result of the dry creeks and scrub surrounding fairways and bunkers near greens. The fairways appear deceptively wide, but taking advantage of them usually means an extra stroke to get to the greens, which appear rather large but due to the links style are amazingly small.

Once the greens have been reached, they prove to be challenging as a result of breaks and gradual changes in elevation. There are also several holes where bunkers are embedded in the greens which present interesting challenges as well. Overall the course is beautiful and a challenge, providing an excellent value for the experience. This is one I will definately play again.

lots of different shots can be played due wind condtions,somewhat of a links style course,great chipping areas around greens. good for golfers of all skill levels
