Carolina National Golf Club, Bolivia, NC

I would have given Carolina National (I played Heron-Ibis) a higher rating, but several of the greens were in very poor condition, to the point where putting was next to impossible. No mention of this was made when I booked or when I checked in, and no provision was made on the course, e.g., burned areas marked as GUR or being simply told to "take two putts on six". Also, I had a 5 hour round, which is just no fun. This may have had to do with the fact that I was playing as a single and got slotted into to a family group -- there was no way we were going to play through the group ahead of us, even though they were slow. I don't know if they were being held up at all, but it was possible, since the course seemed pretty full. If I could have gone around in 4 hours and played on healthy greens, I would rate the course higher.
