Played Coyote Creek on October 3rd. The course was in good shape for this late in the year and the price was very nice as well. Excellent driving range with very well maintained tee boxes and clearly marked distances. The course itself was fairly easy. Somewhat narrow fairways at times with rather dense rough, but even if you were off-center on your drives you wouldn't be too hurt. The greens were in good shape and held the ball well and were also quick. On a Saturday 18 took us about 4 1/2 hours but we caught the tail end of a tournament that slowed things down a bit. The course is in the middle of noewhere but it was a fun time, definitely worth the 30 minute drive from Denver.

Coyote Creek is located in Fort Lupton which is 30 plus miles East and a little south of Longmont, which translates to - this course is in the middle of nowhere. Before we went we had heard the course was having financial troubles, not sure it would be around much longer, but as we spoke with the staff, they assured us they were actually making money again. Which is a good thing as this is a course I would classify as interesting, challenging in places, but not an adrenaline type course. There are some amazing views of the Rocky Mountains, and from that distance you can see much more of the mountain range.

The front and back nine both end with par 5 holes with deep bunkers and enough of a dog leg to pose a challenge. Several of the par 3's have water hazards, but I encountered nothing on the course that caused me to scratch my head and wonder if it was possible.

As it was Labor Day weekend, we expected the course to be crowded, but we started at 3 and were done by 7, a four hour round that we walked. We saw two other groups all day which is unfortunate, the course is maintained well, fun to play and overall a course I would enjoy visiting again. Considering that most courses in the Denver-Fort Collins corridor often are booked on weekends, this course, a 40 minute drive from Longmont, was well worth the trip and I would encourage others to visit.
