I saw the most recent review was from nearly 2 years ago si I thought it needed an update. I have found the fairways to be green and wee-cared for. No signs of ground squirrel damage. Hkwever, I have been treated to rabbits and quail on the tees, deer on the fairways, and the occasional hawk soaring overhead. The staff has been nothing less than wonderful. This is a really nice course to play and very affordable.

You get what you pay for...Blake Lake is nicer but more expensive...and this is the only decent course [except for the CC] near Santa Maria...the views are awesome...the holes fun and challenging...NO PARALLEL FAIRWAYS...which is all we have here in Idaho....WTF?....and yes, the staff is crusty, but why let their attitude bother you? Just play golf. Mornings sometimes suck cause of the fog [too wet]....and later in the day[s] it can be VERY windy.....BUT, if you just like golf, in a gorgheous surrounding....and you dont have to coddled or pampered....you'll love it.

Horrible maintenance (VERY DRY).
The "fairways" are full of squirrel holes.
The staff is a bunch of miserable bitter A-HOLES.
The average clientele is 60+.
The play is excruciatingly SLOW!
NEVER AGAIN!
