This is a small fun course that is great for beginners. Other golfers will not get mad if you aren't very good because if they were good they would be golfing somewhere else.

Nice course to get a quick 9 in, nice for practice an a solo round. They actually keep this course up better than you'd think, and better than it has in the past. there some fun holes and few eagle holes.

The course is in the middle of the horse racetrack at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. Nothing special but a reasonable place to get started. On the other end of the fairgrounds, on Valley, just off Bernal, there is a driving range, where you can also practice putting and chipping, which is good to do first. The pro shops of both facilities are friendly and the places kept up well. My daughter, who is 13 and had never played on a course previously, was comfortable enough that we returned a few weeks later.
