Pine Valley has the potential to be a really nice course, but unlike many of the other reviews I will not be reccommending this golf course as a place to play. The layout of the course is great, several unique holes, and water comes into play a fair amount adding to some pretty nice scenery. Unfortunately, however, this is where the compliments come to an end. What absolutely ruins an otherwise nice course is the maintainance which is rivaled for the worst I have ever played. Many fairways had literally more bare areas of dirt than actual areas of grass. Several other holes, especially 3 and 4 are simply ridiculous with the slope of the fairway. I guarantee nobody's drive stays in play because the best of drives will run out of bounds due to the steepness of the slope. $9 to walk weekday peak hours sounds like a great deal, but it's not because your really not playing golf with the existing conditions. Furthermore, it's impossible to improve or work on any aspect of your game, likewise, due to the maintainance. They do have logo balls for the collector like myself, a benefit. Great scenery, great layout....AWFUL AWFUL playing conditions including every tee box being dirt so dry you literally have a hard time putting a tee into the ground. If you truly are someone that plays once or twice a year or want to take a youngster out to play for cheap, definately come here. If you play remotely for real..then do not come. Overall rating D+

Very friendly staff, i feel very welcome every time i go, been 5 times, had a great time every time, seriously thinking about becoming a member, but in the meantime will be back several time. Tee boxes are in ok conditions, fairways on front 9 are in bad shape, all greens are ok, but the back 9 is better overall. My favorite course, by far. It'll cost ya 20 during week days before 4 pm, and 17 after 4, with cart rental. Tee times are needed on weekends, and it is 22 before 4 and 20 after 4, with cart rental. Great course overall, would recommend it to anyone looking for a great way to spend a day golfing cheap.

I played a 3 man scramble on this golf course on 03/24/11. All 3 of us are from out of town. We enjoyed our round of golf. The course is great to get out & play a little & practice a little. While the course isn't long, it defends itself with uneven slopes & other subtleties. Pine Valley will never be confused with a country club, but neither will it's fees. The value is very good & so is the atmosphere. We were made to feel very welcome in the pro shop. Bottom line, Lord willing, I will go back & play there again some day.

I played this course earlier this week. I felt that the course was in much better condition than the last time I played the course. They have really worked on the fairways, in other words they actually exist now. Greens were very very fast, probably the fastest I have ever played on other the CC of Ark, But for the Money overall a great experience. I will be going back.

All they need to do now is put a few bunkers on the course and it will be a bit more fun.

i played this course twice. the first time i played i found the greens rather fast and the fairways dead. the fairwai on hople three needs to be leveled out. to get teh ball to stick in the fairway, you have to almost hit it out of bounds. i feel it is a terrible experience for the price, when there are better courses close for the same price.

The course is terrible. We had two dogs that live on the course walk in front of us on number 1. We also got briefed by the clubhouse attendant that because 2 or 3 holes were so badly sloped to one side, if we hit it in the middle it would roll to the woods. So we were told we could go get our ball and put it back in the middle. I guess if you are trying to see a golf course instead of hitting range balls its cheap but if you shoot under 80 don't waste your time. Perfect shots get eaten by a terrible course.

A very nice course for the money! I played there today and was very pleased.

I like the course. I try and play a couple times a month. The greens seem in good shape to me and are fast. Good place to play for the money.

A good course for a beginning golfer. A great value. A couple of great par 3's. #2 is 143 yards from valley up to a very elevated and sloped green. #5 is 175 yards from up top of a hill, across a big pond, to a green down in the valley.

Decent course. They had a problem with goose poop on the greens last time I was there. There are couple of holes that just aren't really fair scoring holes, like ridiculously slanted fairways. Not a bad course for the money though, just take your bogey on the messed up holes and move on.

I play at Pine Valley every couple of weeks. It's a decent course fairly convenient to the North Little Rock/Sherwood/Jacksonville area. It's cheap enough, if not always in the best shape. The fairways can be a little bit dead and full of weeds. Most of the greens are usually in ok shape.

Hole #3 is darn near impossible due to the usually dead fairway that slopes severely from left to right, making even really good drives roll in to the bushes and often through the fence.

#5's a good, very difficult challenge. It's a par 3 with the tee signifigantly elevated and a hard to stick it on, island green.

The back nine's less troublesome, but fun enough to play.

Pine Valley's a pretty good value if you don't expect too much out of it.

My Review

The greens are typically in good shape, but the fairways can vary from hole to hole. The holes furthest from the Golf Shop have fairways that slope left to right downward and when the fairways are dry and dead the ball will roll to the OB markers and beyond. Can make for aggravating play even if you hit a decent drive.

The course is lined with trees and interesting rough. If you mis-hit your ball you will have a tough time finding it.

The value is great though for those just wanting to get off the range and play a course expecting a rough round. I think we tee'd off at 1030am on a September Friday morning and paid approx. $16 including cart. Not bad considering 12 out of the 18 holes were in good shape including fairways. Just have to look past the 6 holes that need help.
