Starting Position
Start with the medicine ball to the right and above the head and then rotate your body the way of your natural backswing. Try to keep your feet in position and just rotate the torso and shoulders. Hold in this position.
Movement
Now bring the ball down and through from right to left much like a swing's movement. This is also like an axe when coming through the body, hence the name "the wood chop." Focus on coming down and through explosively.
Finish
The finish of this exercise will be when you have moved down and through. Then you should be in a position where the ball is outside of the left knee and the legs are bent. The body should also be slightly turned to the left, much like the finish of a golf swing. This exercise will help to give more explosive and muscular strength that can be directly transferred into a golf swing. Complete three sets of 12 for both sides.
