Pre-Putt Routine
Stand behind the ball and read the green for break and slope and determine your target line. Take a few practice strokes to get the feel, then step into your position and aim the club-face. Aim your feet, hips and shoulders parallel to the putt's target line.
Posture
Stand fairly tall at address with a slight flex in the knees. Your arms should be relaxed and hanging down from your shoulders, with a light grip on the putter.
Maintain the Triangle
Maintain the same triangle you created at address with you shoulders, arms and putter working as one piece. Your hands should remain quiet throughout the stroke. The back of your left hand and the palm of your right hand should face the target through impact.
Aim
Position your eyes directly over the ball at address. This will confirm that you are standing the proper distance from the ball, your posture is correct and your eyes are parallel to the target line.
Distance Control
Stand with your feet about shoulder-width apart and take your putter directly back on a straight line. Your forward stroke should be the exact distance as your back stroke, maintaining even tempo. Do not move your head. Commit to holding your finish for a few seconds before looking to see where your ball has traveled.
