The Best Amateur Golf Tournaments in Las Vegas
Amateurs who are intent on playing in a tournament in Las Vegas can find a few tournaments from which to choose. Additionally, there are several other amateur tournaments elsewhere in Nevada.These tournaments are held in places like Boulder City, Reno and Mesquite.

Las Vegas City Amateur

The Las Vegas City Amateur is held in October each year. The tournament is open to men only and costs around $150 to enter. In order to be eligible for the tournament, you must have a current USGA Handicap if you want to play in the senior division or you must belong to one of the Southern Nevada Golf Association's member clubs' handicap services. The tournament takes place at the Las Vegas Golf Club, which features a 6,319-yard, par-70 course.

Las Vegas Senior City Amateur

The Las Vegas Senior City Amateur also takes place at the Las Vegas Golf Club. Those who wish to enter the competition must show proof of a USGA Handicap Index. Entrance fees range from $140 to $165 per entrant. The tournament is held each October.

MGAN TPC Las Vegas Amateur

The MGAN TPC Las Vegas Amateur takes place in July each year. Because the average temperature in Las Vegas in July is more than 100 degrees, golfers need to stay hydrated at this tournament. The tournament is held at the TPC of Las Vegas, which is a 7,063-yard, par-71 course. As of 2009, tour members paid $185 to enter the tournament, whereas non-tour members paid $235.
